Women's Cross Country Ranked In First USTFCCCA Poll Of 2009

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team is ranked 13th in the Northeast Region in the first U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll of the season. Quinnipiac sits one spot back of cross-town rival Yale after the Bobcats placed third at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept.  12 with 65 team points. Sophomore Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) led Quinnipiac with a third-place overall finish on the 3.3-mile course as she crossed the line in 20:31.

At Dartmouth, Quinnipiac finished behind Boston College, ranked third in the poll. The previous weekend, the team ran at the Stony Brook Invitational hosted by the fourth-ranked Seawolves.

The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 as they host 10 teams at the annual Quinnipiac University Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
