      <description>HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team was named one of the U.S. Track &amp; Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams of 2009. The Bobcats posted a cumulative grade-point average of 3.40 this past season to earn the distinction. Quinnipiac was one of four teams from the Northeast Conference to make the list of 176 teams nationally, joining, Central Connecticut, Sacred Heart and Monmouth.</description>

      <title>Women's Cross Country Finishes 13th At NCAA Northeast Regional</title>

      <description>BOSTON - The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team finished 13th at Saturday afternoon's NCAA Northeast Regional hosted by Boston University. The Bobcats ended the meet with 439 team points on the 6K Franklin Park course. Sophomore Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was Quinnipiac's top runner of the day, placing 52nd overall with a time of 23:29 in a field of 239 runners. Syracuse finished as the top team, scoring 59 points on the muddy and wet course.</description>

      <title>Women's Cross Country Wins Record Fifth Straight NEC Championship</title>

      <description>HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's cross country team won its fifth consecutive Northeast Conference Championship Saturday afternoon in Hamden. The Bobcats broke the previous record they had tied with Saint Francis (Pa.) last season of four straight conference titles. Four Quinnipiac runners finished in the top 10 as the team finished with 33 points, 38 ahead of second place Sacred Heart. Carolyn Martin was named the NEC Coach of the Year for the first time, pushing Quinnipiac's streak of consecutive seasons with the league's top coach to four.</description>

Roche was named the Road Runner Sports NEC Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, while White was honored as the Road Runner Sports NEC Rookie of the Week for the fifth time. Their first- and second-place showings at CCSU helped the Bobcats to their second first-place team finish of 2009 with 32 points.</description>

Sophomore Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and freshman Becca White (Natick, Mass.) finished first and second in the scoring, respectively. The Bobcats finished the meet with 32 points, 10 ahead of second-place Brown's 42-point performance.</description>

Brown won the meet with 130 points.</description>

White earned the weekly accolades after finishing the Quinnipiac University Invitational first overall on Saturday with a time of 17:58. Her finish helped secure the team victory for the Bobcats with 19 total points.</description>

White crossed the line in 17:58, the only runner to break the 18-minute mark during the day. The Bobcats had five runners in the top 10 on the 5K Quinnipiac Cross Country Course.</description>

The race was the first of her collegiate career as White was the first Bobcat to finish the 4100-meter course. Long Island's Selina Munoz was named the Road Runner Sports NEC Athlete of the Week joining White with a weekly conference accolade.</description>

Quinnipiac will serve as the host school for the 2009 NEC Championships on Oct. 31.</description>
