QU Women's Volleyball Opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Play This Weekend At Home
After three road tournaments to start off the season, the Quinnipiac Bobcats will kick of MAAC Conference play at home this weekend. Quinnipiac hosts Manhattan College on Saturday, Sept. 20 followed by the backend of the weekend doubleheader on Sunday, Sept. 21. Both contests begin at 1 p.m. on Burt Kahn Court.

QU Women's Volleyball Falls to Manhattan in Conference Opener, 3-1
The Quinnipiac Bobcats opened MAAC play with a strong showing against the visiting Manhattan Jaspers, but saw its comeback bid fall short in a 3-1 loss at Burt Kahn Court on Saturday afternoon. After falling behind Manhattan 2-0, the Bobcats rebounded in the third set with a dominating 25-14 victory. In that set freshman Nicole Milillo (Lynbrook, N.Y.) had three service aces while Quinnipiac as a team had an impressive six service aces in the third set.

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team continues to give back to the community by visiting the Northbridge Health Care Center to spread some joy. As part of the Quinninpiac Athletic Department's Positive Play Initative, the Bobcats visited Northbridge located in Bridgeport, Conn. to bring some happiness to the elderly.

QU Women's Volleyball Falls in Heartbreaking Fashion to Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-2
After jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the match against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knghts it looked like Quinnipiac was on the the verge of their second victory of the season. Despite the lead and an early 4-1 lead in the third set, the Bobcats could not hold off a resilient FDU squad that stormed all the way back for a 3-2 victory in the first game in the Friar Classic Tournament.

QU Women's Volleyball Falls Twice in Doubleheader at Greyhound Invitational Tournament
It was a tough end to a promising weekend for Quinnipiac as the Bobcats lost their doubleheader on Saturday afternoon to close out the Greyhound Invitational Tournament. The Bobcats would drop the first match to St. Francis (Pa.) 3-1 and were swept in the last game by Dartmouth 3-0.

Baltimore, Md. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats opened up the Greyhound Invitational against the host Loyola Greyhounds. After a strong start and a comeback that forced a fifth, the Bobcats would ultimately fall to the Greyhounds 3-2.

The Quinnipiac University women's volleyball team lost to UMass Lowell, 3-0, in the Bobcats home opener at Burt Kahn Court in Hamden, Conn. With the loss, Quinnipiac drops to 1-3 on the yeare while the River Hawks pick up their first win of the season to improve to 1-4.

QU Women's Volleyball Comes From Behind to Knock Off Lafayette, 3-2, In Season Opener
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team kicked off the 2014 season with an incredible come-from-behind victory over the Lafayette Leopards, 3-2, at the Hofstra Invitational. The Bobcats fell behind early dropping the first two sets (25-20, 25-23) in this match but battled back taking the final three sets (25-21, 25-14, 15-11) to win the match. The incredible comeback marks the first win for the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team in a season opener in the Division I era (since 1998).

The Quinnipiac University women's volleyball team was picked eighth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday, August 7, 2014. The Bobcats will return 10 of 13 letterwinners from a year ago in which Quinnipiac was one of the youngest teams in the nation.

Quinnipiac University Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald has announced all-time highs in several academic areas for the 2013-14 season. Quinnipiac’s 414 student-athletes posted a program best 3.293 cumulative grade-point-average, while all but one of Quinnipiac’s 21 varsity teams posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Women's Volleyball Finalizes Class of 2018 With Five Player Commitments
Quinnipiac University women's volleyball head coach Kris Czaplinski has officially announced the signing of five players that'll suit up for the Bobcats in the 2014 season. Sierra Dawson (Larkspur, Calif.), Elizabeth Kloos (Munster, Ind.), Nicole Milillo (Lynbrook, N.Y.), Cheyenne Orsi (Bristol, Conn.) and Jamie Termotto (Smithtown, N.Y.) will make up the Class of 2018. With just two senior departures from the 2013 squad and 10 letterwinners returning, Czaplinski's five additions give him a versatile and talented group prepared to make some noise in the Bobcats' second go-round in the MAAC.

Allison Leigh Named to All-MAAC Rookie Team; First Bobcat to Earn All-Conference Laurel Since 2004
Quinnipiac women's volleyball freshman middle hitter Allison Leigh’s (Palmer, Alaska) tremendous 2013 campaign ended with an All-MAAC Rookie Team honor, announced by the league at their Tournament banquet held on Friday, Nov. 22. Leigh becomes the first Bobcat to hold an All-Conference distinction since Kalyn Hundley all the way back in 2004 when she was named to the All-NEC Second Team. After just one season, Leigh was a total all-around contributor that led the team in all major offensive and defensive statistical categories.

A total of six members of the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team were named to the 2013 MAAC Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team on Nov. 22, 2013. Quinnipiac's total was tied for third in the conference but on a percentage-based number, the Bobcats had the second-highest percentage of eligible players make the All-Academic Team among the 10 teams in the conference.

Women's Volleyball Dropped by Niagara, 3-1, in 2013 Finale; Tanner Celestin Records First Career Double-Double for the Bobcats
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team's 2013 season came to an end on Sunday with a 3-1 loss at the hands of Niagara. Junior Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.) went off for 13 kills and 17 digs to tally her first career double-double for the Bobcats while freshman Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska) compiled five more blocks to finish first in the MAAC in total blocks with 136. Quinnipiac finishes their 2013 campaign with a 5-26 record and 3-15 mark in MAAC play while the Purple Eagles improve to 4-25 with an identical 3-15 conference record to finish their season.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Canisius in Four Sets, 3-1
Junior outside hitter Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.) smashed a season high 13 kills but it wasn't enough as the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell short against Canisius, 3-1. Quinnipiac put everything together in the third set as they nearly doubled up Canisius in kills, 13-7, but struggled in the three other sets as the Golden Griffins picked up the victory on Saturday from Koessler Athletic Center (25-12, 25-21, 24-26, 25-12). The Bobcats' loss drops them to 5-25 (3-15 MAAC) while Canisius improves to 11-17 (9-8 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Falls to Manhattan on Senior Day, 3-1; Five Bobcats Record Career Highs in 2013 Home Finale
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Manhattan on Senior Day Sunday from Burt Kahn Court but played one of their best matches of the season with career highs littered all across the stat sheet. Seniors Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) and Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) were honored before the match for their incredible careers and contributions to the program. Riker, having played the fifth-most sets of any Bobcat in program history and over 100 career matches, tied a single game program record with 29 digs against the Jaspers. She was one of five different Bobcats who notched career highs as the team performed brilliantly against the top team in the MAAC standings.

Women's Volleyball Drops Home Match to Iona, 3-0
Freshman outside hitter Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ind.) went to work with her most kills in a match in nearly a month but it wasn't enough to carry Quinnipiac women's volleyball past Iona as the Bobcats fell, 3-0. Urycki racked up nine kills on the afternoon from Burt Kahn Court but the Gaels' offensive attack was too much to overcome in the defeat. Quinnipiac moves to 5-23 (3-12 MAAC) on the season while Iona picks up a key win to stay in the playoff race at 13-13 (11-5 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Wins Three Unanswered Sets to Complete Thrilling Come-From-Behind Victory Over Saint Peter's, 3-2
Down two sets and on the brink of another defeat, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team dug in and morphed into the superior team, winning the final three sets unanswered to claim a 3-2 victory over Saint Peter’s. The dazzling performance by the Bobcats was their first comeback from two sets down in a match since Nov. 15, 2009 (110 matches) but it was their first time coming back from that deficit on the road since before the 2003 season (over 300 matches). Sophomore Chandler Thornton (Arlington, Texas) had a career day for Quinnipiac while junior Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) stepped up with an incredibly strong day from the setter position in helping secure the victory. Quinnipiac snaps their nine game losing streak to improve to 5-22 (3-11 MAAC) while the Peacocks fall to 4-25 (2-15 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Falls on the Road to Rider, 3-0
Despite nearly equaling Rider in kills for the match, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the Broncs on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats fell victim to some early set runs for Rider as the Broncs avenged a loss to Quinnipiac from early in the season, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14. Senior Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) notched 16 digs in the match to eclipse the 1400 career dig mark as she now stands at 1,414 in her four years at Quinnipiac. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-22 (2-11 MAAC) while Rider remains a playoff hopeful at 14-10 (5-8 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Falls at Home to Marist, 3-0
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team had no answer for the Marist combination of middle hitters as they fell to the Red Foxes on Wednesday, 3-0. Despite a strong showing from the Bobcats with seven team blocks and another team-leading seven kills from freshman Allison Leigh, Quinnipiac had no answer for Marist’s Mackenzie Stephens (10 kills) and Courtney Shaw (8 kills) up the middle which proved the difference in the conference showdown. Quinnipiac drops to 4-21 (2-10 MAAC) on the season while Marist jumps up to the No. 3 ranking in the MAAC standings at 15-8 (9-4 MAAC).

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team tested the reigning MAAC Champion Fairfield early but couldn’t keep up with the Stags as the Bobcats fell, 3-0, on Saturday from Alumni Hall. The Bobcats stuck with the Stags throughout the first set but lost in extra points, 27-25, and ultimately lost the final two sets by an identical score of 25-19. Quinnipiac falls to 4-20 (2-9 MAAC) on the season while Fairfield wins their eighth straight to move to 11-11 (9-3 MAAC) on the year.

The first Alaskan native to ever play women's volleyball at Quinnipiac, freshman middle hitter Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska), was recently featured in an article written in her local hometown paper, the Mat Su Valley Frontiersman. The first-year standout has already made a name for herself as she stands first in the MAAC in total blocks and blocks per set average and is on-pace to break Quinnipiac’s single-season blocks record.

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will wrap up their non-conference slate for 2013 with a match on Wednesday night against former Northeast Conference foe Bryant. The Bulldogs come into Hamden with a respectable 7-18 record and 3-4 mark in NEC play while the Bobcats own a 4-18 record while standing 2-8 in MAAC competition. Despite another solid defensive outing from Bobcat senior libero Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio), the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Marist, 3-0, on Sunday. Riker posted 13 digs against the Red Foxes to continue her recent tear as she’s now finished seven out of eight games with double digits in digs. Quinnipiac’s loss brings them to 4-18 (2-8 MAAC) on the season while Marist is still in line for a playoff berth at 13-7 (7-3 MAAC).

Bonnie Conklin's Career High 10 Blocks Wasn't Enough for Women's Volleyball in 3-1 Loss to Siena
Senior middle hitter Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) put up a career high 10 blocks (three solo, seven assist) but the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team wasn’t able to get by Siena, falling on Saturday, 3-1. The Bobcats put a scare in the MAAC’s first place Siena Saints as they claimed a tightly-contested third set and blocked a total of 15 shots, their second-highest total as a team all season. Quinnipiac’s loss moves them to 4-17 (2-7 MAAC) while the Saints keep hold of their first place spot improving to 10-10 (9-1 MAAC).

Despite several prolonged successful offensive runs, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team couldn’t handle the imposing serve of the Siena as they fell, 3-1, at home on Wednesday. The Saints dominated the Bobcats in service aces to the tone of 20-4, which despite a solid offensive night from the Quinnipiac hitters, proved too much to overcome. The loss snaps Quinnipiac’s two game winning streak as they fall to 4-14 (2-4 MAAC) while Siena jumps to 7-10 (6-1 MAAC).

Emma Ogden Honored as MAAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team's freshman setter Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.) has been named MAAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a weekend sweep and their first two victories in the MAAC. She becomes the first Bobcat since Jenna Benigno back on Oct. 17, 2005 to win a weekly Rookie of the Week award. Ogden's Rookie of the Week honor is the first of her career after having already taken home Player of the Week back on Sept. 16, 2013.

Katie Urycki Helps Women's Volleyball Pound Their Way Past Saint Peter's, 3-1; Bobcats Pick Up Second Straight MAAC Victory
Freshman Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ind.) acted as the killing machine for the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team on Sunday as the Bobcats took down Saint Peter's, 3-1. The freshman outside hitter smashed a career and game high 17 kills, the most for any Bobcat in a match this season, as Quinnipiac’s offensive unit continues to pick up their play under second year head coach Kris Czaplinski. The Bobcats win their second MAAC game ever, extending their winning streak to two games as their record improves to 4-13 (2-3 MAAC) while the Peacocks drop to 3-16 (1-6 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Surges for 3-1 Victory over Rider, Allison Leigh (13 Blocks) Posts Single-Game QU Div. I Record
Burt Kahn Court was electric on Saturday as the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team upset Rider, 3-1, for their first MAAC victory in program history. The Bobcat offense was clicking on all cylinders against a team in the Broncs who came in no lower than third in the conference standings for all major statistical categories. The Quinnipiac defense shut down the lethal Rider attack with 18 total blocks as a team including 13 (3 solo, 10 assists) for freshman Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska). Quinnipiac's triumph improves their record to 3-13 (1-3 MAAC) while Rider’s record falls to 10-4 (2-2 MAAC).

Bobcats' Upset Bid Thwarted by Manhattan as Women's Volleyball Falls, 3-2
The Japers had the upset-minded Bobcats on the verge of defeat Sunday from Draddy Gymnasium but the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team hung in and battled to a 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 14-25, 15-6) loss to Manhattan in MAAC competition. Sensational individual efforts littered the stat sheet up and down the Quinnipiac lineup in their upset bid with four players recording at least nine kills and freshman Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.) certainly setting the pace offensively for her team. The loss moves the ever-improving Bobcats to 2-13 (0-3 MAAC) while the Jaspers win their third straight and move to 10-7 (4-1 MAAC).

Despite improved offensive play from the Bobcats’ hitters, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Iona, 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-21), in their road conference showdown on Saturday. The Bobcats committed their fewest errors in a match (17) since their second contest of the season (Aug. 30 vs. SMU) and posted their third-highest hitting percentage (.098) in a match all season despite the loss. Quinnipiac’s loss drops them to 2-12 (0-2 MAAC) while Iona wins their second straight to improve to 3-10 (1-2 MAAC).

For the second straight match, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team claimed a single set victory but couldn't finish as they fell to Hartford, 3-1, from Burt Kahn Court. The Bobcats were aided by another boisterous crowd on Wednesday night as the Quinnipiac faithful cheered on their home team to their most-successful offensive output of the season (43 kills as a team). With the loss, Quinnipiac falls to 2-11 on the season while the Hawks move up to 6-10.

The raucous environment lifted the Bobcats to a third set victory over reigning MAAC Champion and Preseason favorite Fairfield as they all witnessed history in what was Quinnipiac’s first home game ,in any sport, as a member of the MAAC. The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team suffered a tightly-contested 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23) defeat to Holy Cross on Wednesday from HC Field House. Often times victory comes down to one or two crucial points at the end of sets and the Crusaders had the late-set magic working in their favor in this non-conference duel. With the loss the Bobcats fall to 2-9 on the season while Holy Cross jumps up to 5-5.

Emma Ogden Named MAAC Volleyball Player of the Week
Quinnipiac women's volleyball freshman setter Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.) has been named MAAC Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a pair of victories over St. Francis Brooklyn and Morgan St. this past weekend. Ogden is the first Bobcat to earn a weekly Player of the Week award in nearly three years, following Kayla Lawler’s honor on Oct. 11, 2010. Ogden is also just the fourth Quinnipiac player to earn Player of the Week since the Bobcats became a Division I program in 1998, joining Lawler, Heather Wollyung and Shannon Dublin.

Women's Volleyball Revisits Episcopal Church in New Haven for Positive Play Program
All 13 members of the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team revisited the Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James on Saturday, Sept. 7 as a part of the Athletic Department's Positive Play Initiative. It was the Bobcats' second trip to the Church as the upperclassmen made their first visit back on Saturday, Aug. 24. Bobcat Offense Surges in Victory over Morgan St. to Secure Split in Final Action of Crosstown Tournament
For the second consecutive day, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team showed significant signs of progress as they claimed a victory over Morgan St. in their final day at the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament on Saturday. Junior Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) spearheaded the offensive effort with a career day against the Lady Bears to help the Bobcats claim a 3-1 (14-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-21) victory. Quinnipiac also took on co-host Lafayette in the morning match and fell to the Leopards in straight sets, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-16). The Bobcats’ second victory in as many days moves their record to 2-8 while Morgan St. falls to 2-6 and Lafayette improves to 7-2.

Women's Volleyball Breaks Through with Win over St. Francis Brooklyn, Earns Split in Crosstown Tourney Opener
Inspired by sensational efforts from several Quinnipiac underclassmen, the Bobcats prevailed for their first win of the 2013 campaign on Friday from the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament. The Bobcats took down St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19), in a rematch of Wednesday’s thrilling five set affair in which Quinnipiac lost to the Terriers. In the nightcap of Friday's action, the Bobcats finished the day with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-18) loss to co-host Lehigh. With the day’s split, Quinnipiac moves to 1-7 on the season while St. Francis stands 3-7 and the Mountain Hawks improve to 6-3.

Bobcats' Thrilling Comeback Attempt Thwarted by St. Francis Brooklyn as Women's Volleyball Falls, 3-2
When all hope had seemed lost in the fourth, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team battled their way into the fifth set but ultimately fell to St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-2, on Wednesday night from Genovesi Court. Trailing 23-18 in the fourth set, the Bobcats showed incredible heart and rattled off seven consecutive points to force a decisive final set. The Terries however proved too much in the fifth as they claimed the victory (17-25, 25-12, 25-20, 23-25, 15-8) to improve to 3-6 while the Bobcats fall to 0-6 on the season.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Providence in Home Opener, 3-0
Despite an energized Quinnipiac faithful in support of the women's volleyball team on Wednesday, the Bobcats fell to Providence, 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-15), in their 2013 home opener. The straight-set loss drops Quinnipiac to 0-5 on the season while Providence moves to the .500 mark at 2-2 in 2013.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Texas St. (3-0) and Lamar (3-1) in Final Day of Texas St. Classic
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Texas St., 3-0, and Lamar 3-0, in their final day at the Delta Zeta Texas St. Classic on Saturday from Oscar Strahan Coliseum. Senior libero Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) amassed 22 total digs on the afternoon to eclipse 1,100 for her career. The Bobcats now drop to 0-4 on the season while the host Texas St. remains undefeated at 3-0 while Lamar moved to 1-3.

Women's Volleyball Swept by Houston, SMU in Season Opener at Texas State Classic
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Houston and Southern Methodist in the Bobcats’ season opener from the Delta Zeta Texas State Classic on Friday. Both matches ended in 3-0 decisions as the Cougars (25-8, 25-18, 25-18) and Mustangs (25-15, 25-10, 25-14) both swept the Bobcats. Quinnipiac drops to 0-2 to start the 2013 season while Houston and SMU both begin the year 1-0.

Women’s Volleyball Announces 2013 Schedule
Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball head coach Kristopher Czaplinski has announced the 2013 women’s volleyball schedule, as the Bobcats will compete in their first season as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Bobcats have 18 conference matchups and 13 matches at Burt Kahn Court. The Bobcats will also compete in two early-season tournaments, the Delta Zeta Texas State Classic and the Lafayette/Lehigh Crosstown Tournament.

Quinnipiac Joins The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Council of Presidents revealed with unanimous approval for Quinnipiac University to join the MAAC. Effective as of July 1, 2013, Quinnipiac is officially a member of the MAAC with competition slated for the 2013-14 academic year.

Women's Volleyball Signs Four More to National Letters of Intent; Class of 2017 Grows to Six
After having already signed a pair back in December, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team recently added four more to their incoming Class of 2017 as all four incoming freshmen signed their National Letters of Intent. Joining the Bobcats next season will be setter Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.), middle hitter Samantha Alechko (Demarset or Old Tappen, N.J.), middle hitter Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska) and outside hitter Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ind.). With these added signings, the Bobcats will now have at least one incoming freshmen at every position, adding some much-needed depth to an already young and talented roster.

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team joined a force of over 1,000 students and volunteered their time in the Big Event held on-campus Saturday, April 6. The Bobcats created a volunteer team composed of members from the 2012 squad and volunteered with community service projects all of Saturday morning into the afternoon.

Quinnipiac Women's Volleyball Signs Pair to National Letters of Intent
Quinnipiac women's volleyball head coach Kris Czaplinski and his staff announced the signing off two players to National Letters of Intent that will join the Bobcats in the fall of 2013. Right side Jamie Paolucci (Lake Mary, Fla.) and defensive specialist/libero Cody Michaels (Lexington, Ky.) signed their Letters of Intent last week and will add to the Bobcat’s Class of 2017. Both players bring quality leadership ability as they both were captains for their high school teams this past season and played their best during their team’s respective playoff runs.

Women's Volleyball Finishes Regular Season With 3-0 Loss to Central Connecticut on Senior Day
On Senior Day from Burt Kahn Court, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2012 season with a, 3-0, loss to Central Connecticut State on Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats say goodbye to seniors Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.), Ashley Kopacki (Hackettstown, N.J.), and Brittany Garrett (Ossining, N.Y.) who each had their moments throughout the match. Quinnipiac finishes 2012 with a 2-23 (1-15 NEC) record while the Blue Devils improve to 17-12 (12-4 NEC) and will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NEC Semifinals.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Sacred Heart, 3-0
Despite a combined 11 total blocks from junior Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) and senior Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.), the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team was defeated by Sacred Heart, 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-16). As a team, Quinnipiac totaled 16 blocks compared to just eight for the Pioneers but the offense couldn’t get going as they generated 19 kills in 87 total attempts. The loss drops the Bobcats to 2-22 (1-14 NEC) while Sacred Heart finished the season 10-20 (8-8 NEC).

The Bobcats and their three senior have one last weekend to make their lasting mark on the program as the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will play in its final regular season games this weekend. They first travel to in-state rival Sacred Heart on Saturday before welcoming fellow in-state rival Central Conn. St. to Burt Kahn Court on Sunday for Senior Day. After coming off a victory for only the second time this season, the Bobcats will look to ride that wave of energy into the final games of the 2012 season.

The Bobcats lit up the scoreboard and had Burt Kahn Court rocking on Sunday afternoon as they claimed their first Northeast Conference victory, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 30-28), over St. Francis (N.Y.). Quinnipiac junior Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) factored heavily in the win with a career-high 13 kills while the Bobcat’s team hitting percentage of .382 is a season-best. The victory snaps a 15-game winless streak for Quinnipiac as they move to 2-21 (1-13 NEC) while the Terrier’s loss brings them to 2-27 (2-12 NEC).

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team couldn’t break through Bryant on Thursday night at Burt Kahn Court, losing in straight sets, 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-18). The Bobcats leader in kills entering Thursday, sophomore Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.), led the way with eight kills, increasing her season total to 146. Sophomore Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) had another standout game for Quinnipiac with 21 assists, four digs, and two blocks. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-21 (0-13 NEC) and Bryant improves to 10-19 (4-8 NEC).

Riker Rewrites Quinnipiac Record-Books; Robinson Plays Big in Women's Volleyball's 3-1 Loss to St. Francis (N.Y.)
Junior libero Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) overtook Kelby Carey as Quinnipiac’s all-time leader in career digs on Saturday in dominating fashion in the Bobcat’s 3-1 (15-25, 27-25, 22-25, 19-25) defeat to St. Francis (N.Y.). Riker finished with 19 digs on Saturday, the second-most of any Bobcat player in a match all season next to her 20 accomplished on Sept. 14 against Providence. She came into play needing only two digs to overtake Carey's previous mark of 1,017 and she currently stands at 1,035 in her distinguished career. With the loss the Bobcats fall to 1-15 (0-7 NEC) while the Terriers score their first NEC win and move to 3-21 (1-6 NEC) on the year.

The Bobcats used inspired efforts up-and-down the roster on Friday night as the women’s volleyball squad prevailed over Providence 3-2 (15-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22, 15-12) at the Bucknell Invitational, for their first win of the season. Sophomore setter Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.), playing in her second career game as the team’s primary facilitator, had a standout night with a double-double of 37 assists and 13 digs to go along with four blocks. Sophomore right side Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.) played big for Quinnipiac down the stretch and senior middle hitter Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) closed the match with a pair of block assists and two kills, including the match-winner late in the fifth set. The win moves Quinnipiac to 1-6 on the season while Providence falls to 1-14.

Pre-tournament training took place at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y. Volleyball Makes Final Regular Season Road Trip To Western Pennsylvania This Weekend
The Quinnipiac volleyball team plays its final regular season road trip this weekend, when it travels to Western Pennsylvania to take on St. Francis (Pa.) and Robert Morris, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Saturday's match is scheduled for 4 p.m., while Sunday's contest will begin at 1 p.m. The Bobcats swept the Red Flash and Colonials earlier this season at home, both by 3-1 margins.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-19 (4-7 NEC), while the Pioneers won their 19th straight match to improve to 24-4 (12-0 NEC).

Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) and Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) each had double-doubles, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Long Island in five sets, 3-2, Saturday afternoon at the Burt Kahn Court. Lawler had 48 assists, 10 digs and five service aces, while Carey added a team-high 16 kills and 11 digs. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-18 (4-6 NEC), while the Blackbirds improve to 8-17 (7-4 NEC).

The Quinnipiac volleyball team plays host to two of the Northeast Conference's top three teams in the standings in Long Island and Sacred Heart this weekend. The third-place Blackbirds visit the Burt Kahn Court Saturday, before the first-place Pioneers come to town on Sunday. Both matches are slated for 2 p.m. starts.

Volleyball Earns Five-Set Victory Against FDU, 3-2
Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) compiled a team-high 17 kills and six blocks as the Quinnipiac University volleyball team triumphed over Northeast Conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson in five sets, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at the Burt Kahn Court. Armstrong was pivotal in the Bobcats' final four points in the decisive fifth set, registering three block assists, along with Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.), as well as a kill to clinch the match. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 6-17 (4-5 NEC), and move into fourth place in the NEC. The Knights drop to 9-16 (4-6 NEC).

Volleyball Travels To CCSU Saturday, Plays Host To FDU Sunday
Following a split of two NEC matches in Brooklyn last weekend, the Quinnipiac volleyball team travels up Interstate-91 to face local rival Central Connecticut Saturday, before playing host to Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday. Currently in fifth place in the NEC standings, this weekend is pivotal as the Blue Devils are close behind the 3-4 Bobcats at 2-5, while the Knights currently hold the fourth, and final, NEC Tournament position in fourth place at 4-4. Saturday's match at CCSU will be in cooperation with Dig Pink to benefit the Sideout Foundation to fight breast cancer.

The win was the first for the Bobcats over LIU since 2001. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 5-16 (3-4 NEC), while the Blackbirds fall to 5-16 (4-3 NEC).

Following an impressive weekend sweep of NEC foes Robert Morris and Saint Francis (Pa.), the Quinnipiac University volleyball team looks for its third and fourth straight wins against NEC foes when it travels to Brooklyn, N.Y., to face St. Francis (N.Y.) and Long Island, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Quinnipiac is 11-3 all-time against the Terriers, including three consecutive wins. The Bobcats are 5-10 all time against LIU, including 10 straight losses.

Volleyball Looks For Three Straight At Holy Cross Wednesday
Following an impressive weekend sweep of NEC foes Robert Morris and Saint Francis (Pa.), the Quinnipiac University volleyball team looks for a third straight win when it travels to Worcester, Mass., Wednesday night for a rematch of the Bobcats' season-opening 3-0 defeat at Holy Cross, Aug. 27. The Bobcats and Crusaders have split 10 meetings all-time. Ironically, the two teams also met last Oct. 13, with the Bobcats pulling out a 3-2 victory in Hamden. The home team has won five of six meetings, with QU defeating Holy Cross in Worcester in 2000. The other four matches were played on neutral courts.

Kayla Lawler Named Molten/NEC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week
Quinnipiac University junior setter Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) has been named Molten/Northeast Conference Volleyball Co-Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a sweep of the league's two Western Pennsylvania teams, Robert Morris and Saint Francis (Pa.), this past weekend. Lawler is the first Bobcat to earn the award in nearly nine years, following Heather Wollyung's honor on Oct. 15, 2001. Lawler is just the third Quinnipiac player to earn the award since the Bobcats began play in the NEC in 1998, joining Wollyung and Shannon Dublin. The Bobcats' setter shares this week's award with Sacred Heart's Elise Sage.
