Position: Assistant Coach

Assistant coach Lindsay Marone joined the Bobcats' staff as an assistant coach in 2012 and will be entering her second season with the team. She will help in the player’s daily routines and work to build better athletes using her hands-on training and playing experience.

Her extensive sports-related background includes coaching stints include a job she currently holds at the Woodbridge Volleyball Center where she coached all-skill volleyball camps, refereed adult league games, and worked at the front desk. She is also currently employed with Amity Physical Therapy where she assists patients with exercise programs and modalities.

During her undergraduate years at Springfield College, Marone held various internships, all with an intensive focus in sports. She was an intern at the on-campus practicum where she designed, demonstrated, and explained in detail an exercise prescription plan designed specifically for an assigned client. Marone also measured body fat, resting and exercise blood pressure, conducted fitness assessments, diet analyses, and personal training. Another internship she held as the Velocity Sports Performance in East Longmeadow, Mass. where she coached athletes aged 8-19 to develop and improve speed, power, and agility. Finally, she interned at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in Winchester, Mass. Marone coached high school and collegiate athletes in areas of performance enhancement including dynamic warm-up and flexibility drills, conditioning, Olympic lifting and explosive training techniques, core stabilization, and overall strength training.

She also has coaching experience at Mike Bouchard Sports Training here she trained athletes ages 8-12 in speed, strength, and agility. From Aug. 2008 – Oct. 2010 she was the head coach of the Hamden High School girl’s junior varsity volleyball team and assistant coach of varsity.

Prior to coming to Quinnipiac she played for the women’s volleyball team at Springfield College. She was a four year team member at the outside hitter position. Her various personal accolades include being named Most Improved Player in 2006 and being selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Bates College Tournament in 2007.

Marone graduated with an undergraduate degree from Springfield College with a bachelor’s of science in applied exercise science. She is expected to receive a master’s of science in applied exercise science in Dec. 2012.
