David Cyr joins the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball coaching staff for his first season in 2012 as a volunteer assistant coach. This represents Cyr’s first Division I coaching position as he brings great leadership qualities as well as a wealth of collegiate playing experience.
Cyr is a 2006 graduate of the University of Connecticut, majoring in psychology. During his time at UConn, Cyr walked-on to the men’s basketball team, a tradition power within the BIG EAST conference. He has since went on to volunteer coach for Blockheads Volleyball Camps/Clinics, was an assistant coach for Tyrrell Middle School girls’ volleyball team (who went undefeated one season), and was a five year coach/player for Oxford’s Golden Eagles Special Olympics volleyball team.
He has held an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist position since 2010 in which he works with one to three students from preschool to high school. He works with a variety of students with varying levels of autism and learning disabilities.
He currently resides in Oxford, Conn.
