Quinnipiac Women's Volleyball Holds Positive Play Event for Shepherd Glen Elementary and Helen Street School
The Quinnipiac University women's volleyball team helped organize and operate a staff vs. staff between Shepard Glen Elementary and Helen Street School as a part of the Athletic Department's Positive Play Initiative. The fierce matchup between staffs was held on Friday, March 21st in the Hamden High School gymnasium.

Women's Volleyball Spends Time Reading to Children at Montessori Preschool in New Haven
Members of the Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball team visited the children of Montessori Preschool on Friday, Feb. 28th to complete a Dr. Seuss themed reading and craft project. The visit helps continue Quinnipiac University's commitment to local community outreach endeavors as part of the Department of Athletic and Recreation's Positive Play Movement.

Allison Leigh Named to All-MAAC Rookie Team; First Bobcat to Earn All-Conference Laurel Since 2004
Quinnipiac women's volleyball freshman middle hitter Allison Leigh’s (Palmer, Alaska) tremendous 2013 campaign ended with an All-MAAC Rookie Team honor, announced by the league at their Tournament banquet held on Friday, Nov. 22. Leigh becomes the first Bobcat to hold an All-Conference distinction since Kalyn Hundley all the way back in 2004 when she was named to the All-NEC Second Team. After just one season, Leigh was a total all-around contributor that led the team in all major offensive and defensive statistical categories.

QU Women's Volleyball Names Six to MAAC All-Academic Team
A total of six members of the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team were named to the 2013 MAAC Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team on Nov. 22, 2013. Quinnipiac's total was tied for third in the conference but on a percentage-based number, the Bobcats had the second-highest percentage of eligible players make the All-Academic Team among the 10 teams in the conference.

Women's Volleyball Dropped by Niagara, 3-1, in 2013 Finale; Tanner Celestin Records First Career Double-Double for the Bobcats
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team's 2013 season came to an end on Sunday with a 3-1 loss at the hands of Niagara. Junior Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.) went off for 13 kills and 17 digs to tally her first career double-double for the Bobcats while freshman Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska) compiled five more blocks to finish first in the MAAC in total blocks with 136. Quinnipiac finishes their 2013 campaign with a 5-26 record and 3-15 mark in MAAC play while the Purple Eagles improve to 4-25 with an identical 3-15 conference record to finish their season.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Canisius in Four Sets, 3-1
Junior outside hitter Tanner Celestin (Norco, Calif.) smashed a season high 13 kills but it wasn't enough as the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell short against Canisius, 3-1. Quinnipiac put everything together in the third set as they nearly doubled up Canisius in kills, 13-7, but struggled in the three other sets as the Golden Griffins picked up the victory on Saturday from Koessler Athletic Center (25-12, 25-21, 24-26, 25-12). The Bobcats' loss drops them to 5-25 (3-15 MAAC) while Canisius improves to 11-17 (9-8 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball's Season Comes to a Close This Weekend at Canisius and Niagara
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team closes out their 2013 season with a pair of matches on the road against Canisius and Niagara from Northwest New York this weekend. The Bobcats are coming off on of their best matches of the season last Sunday in Senior Day against Manhattan. Five different Bobcats tallied career highs including a tying of the single game program record from Logan Riker with 29 digs. Quinnipiac will be looking for a couple more victories to wrap up the season as they’ve already doubled last season’s win total heading into these weekend road matches.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Manhattan on Senior Day, 3-1; Five Bobcats Record Career Highs in 2013 Home Finale
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Manhattan on Senior Day Sunday from Burt Kahn Court but played one of their best matches of the season with career highs littered all across the stat sheet. Seniors Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) and Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) were honored before the match for their incredible careers and contributions to the program. Riker, having played the fifth-most sets of any Bobcat in program history and over 100 career matches, tied a single game program record with 29 digs against the Jaspers. She was one of five different Bobcats who notched career highs as the team performed brilliantly against the top team in the MAAC standings.

Women's Volleyball Drops Home Match to Iona, 3-0
Freshman outside hitter Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ind.) went to work with her most kills in a match in nearly a month but it wasn't enough to carry Quinnipiac women's volleyball past Iona as the Bobcats fell, 3-0. Urycki racked up nine kills on the afternoon from Burt Kahn Court but the Gaels' offensive attack was too much to overcome in the defeat. Quinnipiac moves to 5-23 (3-12 MAAC) on the season while Iona picks up a key win to stay in the playoff race at 13-13 (11-5 MAAC).

This upcoming weekend's matches will be the final in the careers of seniors Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) and Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) from the confines of Burt Kahn Court. Senior Day festivities are set to take place on Sunday in the Bobcats' match against Manhattan while they will also host Iona on Saturday for another MAAC showdown at 1:00 pm. Quinnipiac will recognize these two cornerstone players who have both gone on to accomplish a great deal from their respective positions as a Bobcat.

Women's Volleyball Wins Three Unanswered Sets to Complete Thrilling Come-From-Behind Victory Over Saint Peter's, 3-2
Down two sets and on the brink of another defeat, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team dug in and morphed into the superior team, winning the final three sets unanswered to claim a 3-2 victory over Saint Peter’s. The dazzling performance by the Bobcats was their first comeback from two sets down in a match since Nov. 15, 2009 (110 matches) but it was their first time coming back from that deficit on the road since before the 2003 season (over 300 matches). Sophomore Chandler Thornton (Arlington, Texas) had a career day for Quinnipiac while junior Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) stepped up with an incredibly strong day from the setter position in helping secure the victory. Quinnipiac snaps their nine game losing streak to improve to 5-22 (3-11 MAAC) while the Peacocks fall to 4-25 (2-15 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Falls on the Road to Rider, 3-0
Despite nearly equaling Rider in kills for the match, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the Broncs on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats fell victim to some early set runs for Rider as the Broncs avenged a loss to Quinnipiac from early in the season, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14. Senior Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) notched 16 digs in the match to eclipse the 1400 career dig mark as she now stands at 1,414 in her four years at Quinnipiac. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-22 (2-11 MAAC) while Rider remains a playoff hopeful at 14-10 (5-8 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Falls at Home to Marist, 3-0
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team had no answer for the Marist combination of middle hitters as they fell to the Red Foxes on Wednesday, 3-0. Despite a strong showing from the Bobcats with seven team blocks and another team-leading seven kills from freshman Allison Leigh, Quinnipiac had no answer for Marist’s Mackenzie Stephens (10 kills) and Courtney Shaw (8 kills) up the middle which proved the difference in the conference showdown. Quinnipiac drops to 4-21 (2-10 MAAC) on the season while Marist jumps up to the No. 3 ranking in the MAAC standings at 15-8 (9-4 MAAC).

Quinnipiac Volleyball to Continue MAAC Play With Matchup Against Marist
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team welcomes the Marist Red Foxes to Hamden on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm for the first meeting ever between these two teams from Burt Kahn Court. The Bobcats and Marist recently squared off on Oct. 20 with the Red Foxes coming away with a 3-0 sweep but Quinnipiac will have the home court advantage this time around as they look to get back on the winning track.

Quinnipiac Women's Volleyball Taken Down by Fairfield, 3-0
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team tested the reigning MAAC Champion Fairfield early but couldn’t keep up with the Stags as the Bobcats fell, 3-0, on Saturday from Alumni Hall. The Bobcats stuck with the Stags throughout the first set but lost in extra points, 27-25, and ultimately lost the final two sets by an identical score of 25-19. Quinnipiac falls to 4-20 (2-9 MAAC) on the season while Fairfield wins their eighth straight to move to 11-11 (9-3 MAAC) on the year.

Women's Volleyball Heads Down I-95 for Conference Showdown Against Fairfield on Saturday
Quinnipiac women's volleyball looks to get back on the winning path as they travel down I-95 for a crosstown meeting with Fairfield on Saturday. Both teams met earlier this season with the Bobcats playing the reigning MAAC Champion Stags tough despite losing 3-1. Quinnipiac comes in riding a six-game losing streak and looks to find holes in the Fairfield defense and come out with their first ever win against the Stags.

Alaskan Native Allison Leigh Featured in Hometown Mat Su Valley Frontiersman
The first Alaskan native to ever play women's volleyball at Quinnipiac, freshman middle hitter Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska), was recently featured in an article written in her local hometown paper, the Mat Su Valley Frontiersman. The first-year standout has already made a name for herself as she stands first in the MAAC in total blocks and blocks per set average and is on-pace to break Quinnipiac’s single-season blocks record.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Bryant in Final Non-Conference Showdown of the Season, 3-0
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team returned home to Burt Kahn Court for the first time in nearly two weeks but couldn’t make the most of their homecoming, falling to Bryant, 3-0. Senior Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) continued her strong play from the back line while freshman Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ohio) showcased some nice all-around ability for the Bobcats throughout the evening. The Bobcats fall in their final non-conference contest of the season as they drop to 4-19 (2-8 MAAC) while the Bulldogs improve to 8-18 (3-4 NEC).

Women's Volleyball Closes Out Non-Conference Slate With Home Match Against Bryant on Wednesday
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will wrap up their non-conference slate for 2013 with a match on Wednesday night against former Northeast Conference foe Bryant. The Bulldogs come into Hamden with a respectable 7-18 record and 3-4 mark in NEC play while the Bobcats own a 4-18 record while standing 2-8 in MAAC competition. After sweeping a weekend set against Rider and Saint Peter’s, the Bobcats have failed to record a win as they are looking to get back on the winning track from Burt Kahn Court.

Despite another solid defensive outing from Bobcat senior libero Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio), the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Marist, 3-0, on Sunday. Riker posted 13 digs against the Red Foxes to continue her recent tear as she’s now finished seven out of eight games with double digits in digs. Quinnipiac’s loss brings them to 4-18 (2-8 MAAC) on the season while Marist is still in line for a playoff berth at 13-7 (7-3 MAAC).

Bonnie Conklin's Career High 10 Blocks Wasn't Enough for Women's Volleyball in 3-1 Loss to Siena
Senior middle hitter Bonnie Conklin (Plano, Texas) put up a career high 10 blocks (three solo, seven assist) but the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team wasn’t able to get by Siena, falling on Saturday, 3-1. The Bobcats put a scare in the MAAC’s first place Siena Saints as they claimed a tightly-contested third set and blocked a total of 15 shots, their second-highest total as a team all season. Quinnipiac’s loss moves them to 4-17 (2-7 MAAC) while the Saints keep hold of their first place spot improving to 10-10 (9-1 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Heads to N.Y. This Weekend for Road Matches Against Siena and Marist
After nearly a full week off, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team returns to action this weekend with road bouts against a couple MAAC powerhouses in Siena and Marist. Both opponents currently sit first and third, respectively, in the MAAC standings and show no signs of slowing down. The Bobcats are looking for their first victory in program history over both teams and will need to have their game rounded out if they hope to make the MAAC Tournament.

The Bobcats have progressed leaps and bounds from the start of the season, evidenced by the play of their freshmen core. Starting five freshmen consistently of late, this team has molded itself into a legitimate offensive threat. Despite several prolonged successful offensive runs, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team couldn’t handle the imposing serve of the Siena as they fell, 3-1, at home on Wednesday. The Saints dominated the Bobcats in service aces to the tone of 20-4, which despite a solid offensive night from the Quinnipiac hitters, proved too much to overcome. The loss snaps Quinnipiac’s two game winning streak as they fall to 4-14 (2-4 MAAC) while Siena jumps to 7-10 (6-1 MAAC).

After winning just two games a year ago, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team enters the weekend having already won four thus far, including two straight in the MAAC. The Bobcats secured an upset victory over Rider on Saturday and followed that up with a victory over Saint Peter’s on Sunday for their first MAAC wins in program history. They ride that two game winning streak into a Wednesday night battle with the Siena Saints, an eight-time MAAC Champion and currently second in the conference standings.

Emma Ogden Honored as MAAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team's freshman setter Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.) has been named MAAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a weekend sweep and their first two victories in the MAAC. She becomes the first Bobcat since Jenna Benigno back on Oct. 17, 2005 to win a weekly Rookie of the Week award. Ogden's Rookie of the Week honor is the first of her career after having already taken home Player of the Week back on Sept. 16, 2013.

Katie Urycki Helps Women's Volleyball Pound Their Way Past Saint Peter's, 3-1; Bobcats Pick Up Second Straight MAAC Victory
Freshman Katie Urycki (Chesterton, Ind.) acted as the killing machine for the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team on Sunday as the Bobcats took down Saint Peter's, 3-1. The freshman outside hitter smashed a career and game high 17 kills, the most for any Bobcat in a match this season, as Quinnipiac’s offensive unit continues to pick up their play under second year head coach Kris Czaplinski. The Bobcats win their second MAAC game ever, extending their winning streak to two games as their record improves to 4-13 (2-3 MAAC) while the Peacocks drop to 3-16 (1-6 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Surges for 3-1 Victory over Rider, Allison Leigh (13 Blocks) Posts Single-Game QU Div. I Record
Burt Kahn Court was electric on Saturday as the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team upset Rider, 3-1, for their first MAAC victory in program history. The Bobcat offense was clicking on all cylinders against a team in the Broncs who came in no lower than third in the conference standings for all major statistical categories. The Quinnipiac defense shut down the lethal Rider attack with 18 total blocks as a team including 13 (3 solo, 10 assists) for freshman Allison Leigh (Palmer, Alaska). Quinnipiac's triumph improves their record to 3-13 (1-3 MAAC) while Rider’s record falls to 10-4 (2-2 MAAC).

Bobcats' Upset Bid Thwarted by Manhattan as Women's Volleyball Falls, 3-2
The Japers had the upset-minded Bobcats on the verge of defeat Sunday from Draddy Gymnasium but the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team hung in and battled to a 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 14-25, 15-6) loss to Manhattan in MAAC competition. Sensational individual efforts littered the stat sheet up and down the Quinnipiac lineup in their upset bid with four players recording at least nine kills and freshman Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.) certainly setting the pace offensively for her team. The loss moves the ever-improving Bobcats to 2-13 (0-3 MAAC) while the Jaspers win their third straight and move to 10-7 (4-1 MAAC).

Women's Volleyball Falls to Iona in MAAC Showdown, 3-0
Despite improved offensive play from the Bobcats’ hitters, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Iona, 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-21), in their road conference showdown on Saturday. The Bobcats committed their fewest errors in a match (17) since their second contest of the season (Aug. 30 vs. SMU) and posted their third-highest hitting percentage (.098) in a match all season despite the loss. Quinnipiac’s loss drops them to 2-12 (0-2 MAAC) while Iona wins their second straight to improve to 3-10 (1-2 MAAC).

Weekend Trip to NYC Awaits Women's Volleyball as the Bobcats Take On Iona, Manhattan in MAAC Action
After back-to-back four set losses, the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team will be looking to turn those into victories this weekend as they enter consecutive conference road games. The weekend starts with a MAAC matchup against the Iona Gaels from Hynes Center on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 pm as Quinnipiac will be looking for their first ever victory over the Gaels. Less than 24 hours later the Bobcats will need to recover quickly as they follow with the Manhattan Jaspers on Sunday at 1 pm. This marks the first time both sides have met since 2001 in a matchup featuring the MAAC’s stingiest defensive back line (Manhattan) against one of the conference’s most-dangerous teams from the service line (Quinnipiac).

After a strong showing in their MAAC debut, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will now take on the America East’s Hartford Hawks in a Wednesday night home showdown. The Bobcats played extremely well in spurts Saturday against the reigning MAAC Champions as Quinnipiac went down two sets early but picked up a thrilling third set victory before ultimately falling, 3-1. The set win was the first all-time for the Bobcats over the Stags and a good stepping stone for the remainder of the conference slate.

For the second straight match, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team claimed a single set victory but couldn't finish as they fell to Hartford, 3-1, from Burt Kahn Court. The Bobcats were aided by another boisterous crowd on Wednesday night as the Quinnipiac faithful cheered on their home team to their most-successful offensive output of the season (43 kills as a team). With the loss, Quinnipiac falls to 2-11 on the season while the Hawks move up to 6-10.

The stands were packed and alive with Bobcat fans on Saturday as they packed Burt Kahn Court for the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team in their 3-1 loss to Fairfield. The raucous environment lifted the Bobcats to a third set victory over reigning MAAC Champion and Preseason favorite Fairfield as they all witnessed history in what was Quinnipiac’s first home game ,in any sport, as a member of the MAAC. The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team suffered a tightly-contested 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23) defeat to Holy Cross on Wednesday from HC Field House. Often times victory comes down to one or two crucial points at the end of sets and the Crusaders had the late-set magic working in their favor in this non-conference duel. With the loss the Bobcats fall to 2-9 on the season while Holy Cross jumps up to 5-5.

The Bobcats come into their Wednesday match against Holy Cross flying high as they are coming off a two-win weekend at the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament. Their first victories of the 2013 season came against St. Francis Brooklyn and Morgan St., both by 3-1 decisions. Now after a few off days, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team is ready for Holy Cross in a non-conference showdown on Wednesday night. The team will look to continue their recent winning streak in their first matchup against the Crusaders since 2010.

Emma Ogden Named MAAC Volleyball Player of the Week
Quinnipiac women's volleyball freshman setter Emma Ogden (Crown Point, Ind.) has been named MAAC Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a pair of victories over St. Francis Brooklyn and Morgan St. this past weekend. Ogden is the first Bobcat to earn a weekly Player of the Week award in nearly three years, following Kayla Lawler’s honor on Oct. 11, 2010. Ogden is also just the fourth Quinnipiac player to earn Player of the Week since the Bobcats became a Division I program in 1998, joining Lawler, Heather Wollyung and Shannon Dublin.

Women's Volleyball Revisits Episcopal Church in New Haven for Positive Play Program
All 13 members of the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team revisited the Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James on Saturday, Sept. 7 as a part of the Athletic Department's Positive Play Initiative. It was the Bobcats' second trip to the Church as the upperclassmen made their first visit back on Saturday, Aug. 24. The members of the volleyball team all traveled down to New Haven and helped hand out food to the people of need.

Bobcat Offense Surges in Victory over Morgan St. to Secure Split in Final Action of Crosstown Tournament
For the second consecutive day, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team showed significant signs of progress as they claimed a victory over Morgan St. in their final day at the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament on Saturday. Junior Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) spearheaded the offensive effort with a career day against the Lady Bears to help the Bobcats claim a 3-1 (14-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-21) victory. Quinnipiac also took on co-host Lafayette in the morning match and fell to the Leopards in straight sets, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-16). The Bobcats’ second victory in as many days moves their record to 2-8 while Morgan St. falls to 2-6 and Lafayette improves to 7-2.

Women's Volleyball Breaks Through with Win over St. Francis Brooklyn, Earns Split in Crosstown Tourney Opener
Inspired by sensational efforts from several Quinnipiac underclassmen, the Bobcats prevailed for their first win of the 2013 campaign on Friday from the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament. The Bobcats took down St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19), in a rematch of Wednesday’s thrilling five set affair in which Quinnipiac lost to the Terriers. In the nightcap of Friday's action, the Bobcats finished the day with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-18) loss to co-host Lehigh. With the day’s split, Quinnipiac moves to 1-7 on the season while St. Francis stands 3-7 and the Mountain Hawks improve to 6-3.

Women's Volleyball Heads to Pennsylvania for Four Games at Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament
The second and final weekend tournament of the year looms for the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team as they travel to Pennsylvania to compete in the Lehigh/Lafayette Crosstown Tournament. The Bobcats enter the weekend on a six-game losing streak to start the season but their play has picked up of late as they battled to a five set defeat on Wednesday against St. Francis Brooklyn. Quinnipiac will compete against the Terries once again in the opening match of the tourney followed by bouts against Lehigh, Lafayette and Morgan St.

Bobcats' Thrilling Comeback Attempt Thwarted by St. Francis Brooklyn as Women's Volleyball Falls, 3-2
When all hope had seemed lost in the fourth, the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team battled their way into the fifth set but ultimately fell to St. Francis Brooklyn, 3-2, on Wednesday night from Genovesi Court. Trailing 23-18 in the fourth set, the Bobcats showed incredible heart and rattled off seven consecutive points to force a decisive final set. The Terries however proved too much in the fifth as they claimed the victory (17-25, 25-12, 25-20, 23-25, 15-8) to improve to 3-6 while the Bobcats fall to 0-6 on the season.

Women's Volleyball Squares Off Against St. Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday from Genovesi Court
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will be taking a trip up to Brooklyn Heights as a longstanding rivalry between former conference foes between the Bobcats and St. Francis (NY). The two sides have met 20 times as their series history dates all the way back to 1999, with the Bobcats holding a 14-6 record all-time against the Terriers. Quinnipiac is coming off a straight set loss at home to Providence last Wednesday and are looking to shake off a five game losing streak to start the season.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Providence in Home Opener, 3-0
Despite an energized Quinnipiac faithful in support of the women's volleyball team on Wednesday, the Bobcats fell to Providence, 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-15), in their 2013 home opener. The straight-set loss drops Quinnipiac to 0-5 on the season while Providence moves to the .500 mark at 2-2 in 2013.

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team returns from their first ever trip to Texas and will be hosting the America East Conference's Providence Friars on Wednesday evening from Burt Kahn Court. Both sides played to a dramatic, 3-2, Quinnipiac victory last season in the Bucknell Invitational. Brittanie Robinson erupted for 37 assists, 13 digs, four blocks and two kills to inspire the Bobcats to victory while Logan Riker headlined the defensive effort with a season-high 20 digs. These two sides have gone to at least four sets in the last four meetings as Wednesday’s home opener shapes up to be another nail-biter.

Women's Volleyball Falls to Texas St. (3-0) and Lamar (3-1) in Final Day of Texas St. Classic
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Texas St., 3-0, and Lamar 3-0, in their final day at the Delta Zeta Texas St. Classic on Saturday from Oscar Strahan Coliseum. Senior libero Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) amassed 22 total digs on the afternoon to eclipse 1,100 for her career. The Bobcats now drop to 0-4 on the season while the host Texas St. remains undefeated at 3-0 while Lamar moved to 1-3.

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team fell to Houston and Southern Methodist in the Bobcats’ season opener from the Delta Zeta Texas State Classic on Friday. Both matches ended in 3-0 decisions as the Cougars (25-8, 25-18, 25-18) and Mustangs (25-15, 25-10, 25-14) both swept the Bobcats. Quinnipiac drops to 0-2 to start the 2013 season while Houston and SMU both begin the year 1-0.

Women's Volleyball Opens Season This Weekend With Four Games at Texas State Classic
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will board a plane to Texas on Thursday as the Bobcats will be competing in their first ever tournament in the Lone Star State. They will take part in the Delta Zeta Texas State Classic for a four-game slate against Houston, SMU, Lamar and the host Texas St. The Bobcats' season opener is slated for Friday, Aug. 30 against Houston followed by SMU. Saturday’s action will start with Texas St. and then close with Lamar. An All-Tournament Team will be announced following the final game of the tournament on Saturday.

Several members of the Quinnipiac women's volleyball team recently visited the Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James this past weekend as a part of the Athletic Department’s Positive Play Initiative. The upperclassmen of the volleyball team all traveled down to New Haven and helped hand out food to the people of need.

The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team was chosen to finish tenth in the 2013 MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, announced by the league office on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The Bobcats enter their second season under head coach Kris Czaplinski, who looks to continue to make strides and shape this youthful team into consistent winners.

Women’s Volleyball Announces 2013 Schedule
Quinnipiac University women’s volleyball head coach Kristopher Czaplinski has announced the 2013 women’s volleyball schedule, as the Bobcats will compete in their first season as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Bobcats have 18 conference matchups and 13 matches at Burt Kahn Court. The Bobcats will also compete in two early-season tournaments, the Delta Zeta Texas State Classic and the Lafayette/Lehigh Crosstown Tournament.
