Looking For First Win
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team and Bryant Bulldogs meet in Smithfield, R.I. on Wednesday at the Chace Athletic Center as the Bobcats are searching for their first Northeast Conference win of the season.
The Bobcats snapped their 23-set losing streak on Saturday but couldn't pull out a victory as they fell to St. Francis (N.Y.) 3-1. Junior libero Logan Riker overtook Kelby Carey as Quinnipiac's all-time leader in career digs on Saturday as she finished with 19 on the afternoon to give her 1,035 for her career. With the loss the Bobcats fell to 1-15 (0-7 NEC) while the Terriers scored their first NEC win and moved to 3-21 (1-6 NEC) on the year.
All-Time Against Bryant
The Bulldogs have dominated the previous matchups owning an 8-0 record against Quinnipiac. Bryant swept the Bobcats, 3-0, in both home and away meetings last season. The last time the Bobcats won a set against the Bulldogs was in a 3-1 loss on Nov. 10, 2012 in Hamden.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Bryant currently holds an 8-15 record with a 2-5 mark in NEC competition. After losing eight of nine matches between Sept. 8 – Sept. 29 they have come away winners in three of the past five games including a win over Providence, 3-0, the only team Quinnipiac has beaten in the 2012-13 season. The Bulldogs rank near the bottom in a majority of the statistical conference-only categories including seventh in hitting percentage (.183), seventh in opponent hitting percentage (.230), seventh in kills-per-game (11.34), sixth in service-aces-per-game (1.21) and sixth in digs-per-game (13.97). One area where the Bulldogs have consistently produced for the season is their blocking ability as they rank fourth in conference play with 2.03 blocks-per-game and third in total blocks (59). The Bulldog offensive attack is led by freshman outside hitter Claire Van Dyk who has compiled a team-high 236 kills to go along with 37 service aces on the season. She is supported by junior middle blocker Alexandria Clyburn who has 197 kills (second on team), 75 total blocks (second), and a .274 hitting percentage (first). Senior libero Macy Mitravich has compiled 254 digs on the year and ranks seventh in the NEC in digs-per-game (3.10). Bryant's primary setter is senior Jadith Lorenzo who has stockpiled 526 assists (8.48 per-game) for the year to go along with 149 digs.
Digging Her Way to the Top
With 19 digs against St. Francis (NY ) on Saturday, junior libero Logan Riker currently stands at 1,035 career digs, eclipsing Kelby Carey's previous program-record of 1,017. With 42 digs in three games, Riker has been a stalwart all season with nine double-digit dig performances on the season and 159 to lead the team.

T-Payne in Position
After becoming the fifth player in program history to record 500 career kills during this season, senior right side Taylor Payne also eclipsed 200 career blocks and currently stands at 203. She is just 22 away from becoming the all-time blocks leader at Quinnipiac with nine games left.

Celestin Surging Up Leaderboard
The sophomore outside hitter Tanner Celestin continues to lead the Bobcat's offensive attack as she compiled another seven kills on Saturday to give her 100 for the year. Celestin has seen a marked improvement after totaling only eight kills through the first four games (2.00 per-game average), she has compiled 92 over the past 12 (7.67 per-game average).
Outside hitter Chandler Thornton has impressed during her rookie campaign as she was named to the Bucknell Invitational All-Tournament Team earlier in the year and currently ranks second on the team in kills (67), fifth in hitting percentage (.075), and second in digs (80). She posted a game-high eight kills to go along with eight digs and two total blocks on Saturday. It marked the fourth time she has led the team in kills in a match this season.
Sophomore setter Brittanie Robinson has returned to her dominate self, compiling a game-high 31 assists to go along with five digs and four total blocks on Saturday. Robinson came into Saturday's match coming off 20 assists, four blocks, two service aces, three digs, and one kill against Sacred Heart on Oct. 6. She followed the impressive outing with a 27 assist, four kill, and one kill performance against Central Conn. St. on Oct. 7. Over her past three games, Robinson is averaging 26 assists, four digs, three blocks, and 1.33 kills per game.
