Central Connecticut Defeats Volleyball, 3-1
HAMDEN, Conn. - Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) had 25 digs and Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.), Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) and Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) added nine kills apiece, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Central Connecticut, 3-1, Sunday afternoon in the season finale at the Burt Kahn Court. With the loss, the Bobcats close the season at 6-24 (4-12 NEC), while the Blue Devils advance to the NEC Tournament at 11-17 (8-8 NEC).
The Blue Devils won the first two sets, both by 25-14 margins, before the Bobcats responded with a 25-22 win in the third. The Blue Devils clinched the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set.
Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) had 27 assists and two service aces for the Bobcats, while Payne and Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had two blocks apiece.
