HAMDEN, Conn. - Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) tied her career high with seven blocks, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by St. Francis (N.Y.), 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Burt Kahn Court. The Terriers won each of the three sets by 25-17 margins. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-23 (4-11 NEC), and are eliminated from NEC Tournament contention. The Terriers improved to 9-19 (5-10 NEC).
Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) had a team-high nine kills, while Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) dished out 18 assists. Tracy Wright (Fair Lawn, N.J.) had seven digs, while Taylor Payne (Warwick, N.Y.) added four blocks.
The Bobcats conclude the 2010 season with Senior Day Sunday. Prior to the 2 p.m. match against Central Connecticut at the Burt Kahn Court, the Bobcats will honor their lone senior, Armstrong.
