HAMDEN, Conn. - Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) dished out 18 assists and added seven digs, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Saint Francis (Pa.), 3-0, in a Northeast Conference match Saturday afternoon at DeGol Arena. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 6-20 (4-8 NEC), while the Red Flash improves to 7-19 (5-8 NEC).
After winning the first set, 25-20, the Red Flash won the second, 25-17, before clinching the match with a 25-15 win in the third.
Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) chipped in a team-high 10 digs for the Bobcats, while Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) and Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) paced Quinnipiac with seven kills apiece.
The Bobcats return to NEC action Sunday, when they continue west to suburban Pittsburgh to take on Robert Morris. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Sewall Center in Moon Township, Pa.
