HAMDEN,
Conn. - Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) had a double-double of
a team-high 13 kills and 10 digs, but the Quinnipiac University
volleyball team was defeated by Providence, 3-1, Wednesday night at
the Burt Kahn Court. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 2-11, while
the Friars improve to 7-10.
Volleyball Falls To Providence, 3-1
After winning the first set, 25-22, the Bobcats fell in the final three, 25-19, 25-21, and 25-17.
Olivia Grattan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Amanda Armstrong (Waukesha, Wis.) added eight kills apiece for the Bobcats, while Grattan also had a team-high five blocks. Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) had a team-high 18 digs, while Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) also added double-digit digs with 10. Kayla Lawler (Louisville, Ky.) also contributed 30 assists for the Bobcats.
Lauren Fletcher led the Friars with 15 kills, while former Bobcat Shelagh Dolan added 11 kills and five blocks.
Quinnipiac opens Northeast Conference play Sunday at Bryant. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center.
