HAMDEN, Conn. - Sophomore Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) compiled her 10th double-double of the season, but the Quinnipiac University volleyball team was defeated by Fairleigh Dickinson, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Burt Kahn Court. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-22 (2-10 NEC), while the Knights improve to 5-22 (2-9 NEC).
Carey finished with a team-high 10 kills to go along with 14 digs. Chelsey Pachoud (Riverview, Fla.) narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and a team-high 15 digs. Sophomore Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) led the Bobcats with 24 assists. Freshman Logan Riker (Bowling Green, Ohio) also finished in double digits in digs with 11.
The Knights took the first two tightly-contested sets, 25-22 and 25-23, respectively, before cruising to a 25-12 win in the third set to clinch the match.
The Bobcats return to action Monday afternoon, when they welcome Robert Morris to the Burt Kahn Court. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
