DOVER, Del. Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) hit .600 with 14 kills and eight digs, but the Quinnipiac volleyball team was defeated by Delaware State, 3-2, Saturday morning. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-26, while the Hornets improve to 13-10.
Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) matched her career high with 41 assists for the Bobcats, while Jenna Benigno (Milford, Conn.) added 11 kills. Alyssa Naylor (San Diego, Calif.) and Kelby Carey (Surfside, Calif.) had nine kills apiece, with Carey matching Biediger's eight digs. Shelagh Dolan (Westford, Mass.) had a team-high three blocks.
The Bobcats took the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-13, before the Hornets rebounded with 25-13 and 25-21 victories in the third and fourth, respectively. Delaware State took the decisive fifth set, 15-13.
The Bobcats return to action Sunday, when they travel to Wagner for a Northeast Conference match. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
