Volleyball Falls To Sacred Heart, 3-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – Shelagh Dolan (Westford, Mass.) had four of Quinnipiac's season-high eight blocks, but the Bobcats were defeated by Sacred Heart, 3-0, in Northeast Conference action at the Burt Kahn Court. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 3-24 (0-4 NEC), while the Pioneers improve to 15-7 (2-0 NEC).

Crista Valentino (Oakdale, N.Y.) had 11 digs, while Jenna Benigno (Milford, Conn.) and Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) contributed six kills apiece. Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) added 16 assists for the Bobcats.

Sacred Heart won the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-19, before the Bobcats applied added pressure in the third. It wasn't enough, however, as the Pioneers went to extra points to win the third set, 26-24.

The Bobcats return to action Wednesday, when they travel to Loudonville, N.Y., to take on Siena. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
