Conference Slate Commences
The Quinnipiac volleyball team begins Northeast Conference competition Saturday, when the Bobcats travel to Hackensack, N.J., to face Fairleigh Dickinson. The weekend continues with a home pairing with Long Island.

A First For Two
Freshmen Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) and Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) each established career bests, Oct. 8, against Bryant. Biediger put away a career-high 15 kills, while Lawler's 41 assists is the highest total in her young career.
Scouting the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights
The Knights are led by senior middle hitter Lauren Boothby, whose 356 kills this season are 215 more than that of the next-best hitter on the team. Boothby has also totaled a team-best 56 blocks. Setters Karolina Kowalski and Sarah Willey have split time with 417 and 304 assists, respectively. Freshman libero Kelsey Semler's 283 digs lead the Knights.
Scouting the Long Island Blackbirds
The Blackbirds are led by reigning NEC Player of the Week Svetlana Simic, whose 279 kills and 265 digs are both good for the team lead. Setter Chelsey Stanton has run the offense well with 614 assists, while outside hitter Agatha Baliddawa has a team-leading 63 blocks.
The Quinnipiac University volleyball team will host "Dig Pink," at its Oct. 24 home match against Central Connecticut to raise funds for breast cancer research and create awareness of the disease. Working in conjunction with each other, the Bobcats and Blue Devils have set a goal of raising $5,000 for The Side-Out Foundation. The event will include raffles and prizes, while donations will be accepted.
The Bobcats return to action Friday, Oct. 24, when they host Central Connecticut. The home weekend continues with a Saturday pairing with another conference foe from Connecticut, Sacred Heart.
