Volleyball Defeated By Bryant, 3-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Kelby Carey (Surfside Colony, Calif.) had 11 kills with a .471 hitting percentage, but the Quinnipiac volleyball team was defeated by Bryant, 3-0, in opening round action of the Brown Invitational. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 1-11 this season, while the Bulldogs improve to 9-3.

Alyssa Naylor (San Diego, Calif.) added eight kills Friday afternoon, while hitting .438. She also had a team-high three blocks. Setter Kayla Lawler (Richmond, Ind.) had 27 assists and six digs, tying Crista Valentino (Oakdale, N.Y.) for the team lead.

The Bobcats improved their play with each set. After falling, 25-13, in the first set, they pushed Bryant in consecutive stanzas, 25-23 and 26-24.

Quinnipiac resumes play in the Brown Invitational tomorrow, facing host Brown at 10 a.m., before a 4 p.m. pairing with Stony Brook.
