Biediger At Her Best

Freshman Stephanie Biediger (Houston, Texas) played some of her best volleyball to date at last weekend's Lehigh-Lafayette Crosstown Tournament, despite playing with a heavy heart. With her mind undoubtedly on friends and family as Hurricane Ike traveled through her native Houston, Biediger had 31 kills, 25 digs, 10 assists, six service aces and six blocks in the three-match tournament. She compiled her first career double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs against Columbia.

Scouting The Bryant Bulldogs

The Bulldogs have found immediate success in their inaugural year at Division I, beginning the season with an 8-3 mark. Included in the impressive stretch are 3-0 wins against Hartford and Providence, both of which defeated the Bobcats earlier this season. Freshman outside hitter Jazmin Stoner has a team-high 105 kills and a 2.76 kills per set average. Sophomore setter Miranda Kolb has totaled 351 assists on the young season, while freshman middle hitter Marie Scocca has a team-best 44 blocks. Senior libero Delia Glover leads the Bulldogs with 118 digs.

Scouting The Brown Bears

The Bears began their season just a week ago, but have compiled four wins to just one loss. Competing at the Georgetown Classic, Brown earned wins against James Madison, Morgan State and St. Francis (NY), before falling to the host Hoyas. They then went on to defeat Providence Tuesday. Four Bears have between at least 32 kills, led by senior Lyndse Yess' 38. Senior Natalie Meyers has 118 assists to lead the Bears, while sophomore middle blocker Danielle Vaughan has a team-best 15 blocks. Freshman libero Annika Gliottone leads Brown with 64 digs.

Scouting The Stony Brook Seawolves

Stony Brook is 4-7 so far this year, having defeated Bucknell, Central Connecticut and Manhattan twice. Senior outside hitter Gulce Nazil Dikecligil is the Seawolves biggest threat, totaling 140 kills so far this season. Freshman setter Kelsey Sullivan has 381 assists, while both Dikecligil and junior libero Michelle Burrola have over 100 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Ashley Headen's 44 blocks are a team-best.

Kayl and Nayl

Freshmen Kayla Lawler and Alyssa Naylor lead the Bobcats in assists and kills, respectively, to create a young, dynamic duo. Lawler has contributed 276 assists, while Naylor has a team-high 86 kills, including a 2.26 kills per set clip. Naylor has hit .333 for the season, while also leading Quinnipiac in blocks with 25.
