Named Team MVP after leading the Bobcats in kills (317), service aces (23) and double-doubles (12) ... Also finished second in digs (277) ... Saw action in 99 of the 100 sets the Bobcats played in 2009 ... Tallied career-highs in kills with 24 each in wins at St. Francis (N.Y.) on Oct. 9 and against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Nov. 15 ... Played every set of all 35 matches for the Bobcats...finished second on the team in service aces and digs, while finishing fourth in kills and assists...compiled at least 11 kills on seven separate occasions, including a season-high 12 against Hartford (9/28) and Providence (10/4)...hit a season-high .471 against Bryant (9/19)...compiled 10 digs or more on 11 separate occasions, including a season-high 16 in her collegiate debut against Fordham (8/29)...contributed a season-high four blocks against Kent State (9/5)...had four service aces on two occasions, at Fairleigh Dickinson (10/18) and at Wagner (11/2)...named to the NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

A four year honor-roll student at Los Alamitos High School in Surfside Colony, Calif., Carey was also a four-time Academic Scholar Athlete ... also played for the Mizuno Long Beach club team ... Carey helped Los Alamitos to four consecutive Sunset League Championships from 2004 through 2007, while also capturing the CIF and State Division I Championship in 2005 ... In 2006, Los Alamitos won the Regional and California State Championships ... has played at the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball National Championships every year since she was 11 years old.
