Behind season-bests from five different Quinnipiac runners, the women's track team completed the 2012 season at the New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass. on Saturday, May 12.
"Overall, it was a great way to end the season," head coach Carolyn Martin said. "We saw five people post personal bests, which was a great way to end the year."
Jessica Soja (Simsbury, Conn.) ran a season-best 4:43.91 in the 1500 meter run, finishing 14th out of 31 runners in the event, and the third highest finisher from a Northeast Conference school. Julie Lanning (Victor, N.Y.) finished the 3000 meter steeplechase event in 11.39.97, a personal best for her as well. Samantha Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) also jumped 5-01.00 in the women's high jump event.
