"Overall, the ladies left Richmond with a very positive outlook for the season," said Quinnipiac head coach Carolyn Martin. "Several Bobcats ran great times, especially coming back from injuries or sickness from the indoor season, so it was great to have the entire team running well together again."
Sophomore Becca White (Natick, Mass.) finished a competitive 3k race in seventh place, with a time of 10:06.88. Martha Santandreu (Hamburg, N.Y.) ran a personal-best time of 10:43.19 in the 3,000-meter race, as well.
Quinnipiac's Hannah Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.) ran the 800-meter run in 2:23.63, while Donadio, Rachel Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.), Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and Alexandra Seitz (Annandale, N.J.) represented the Bobcats in the 4x800 relay, finishing in 10:00.08. In addition, Grace Harvey (Clinton, N.J.) competed in the long jump, posting 4.20 meters.
Yesterday, the Bobcats competed in the 5,000-meter run and in the 1,500 meters. The team was led by Roche who finished as Quinnipiac's top runner and in third place overall in 17:47.54. Kristen Stevens (Succasunna, N.J.) followed in fourth place with a time of 17:49:38, while Paige Pallotto (Westbrook, Conn.) ran a personal-best time of 18:19.86, good for a sixth place finish.
"Stevens, our graduate student, has started the season with a great race and I am looking forward to watching her final season unfold," said Martin.
White was the Bobcats' top runner in the 1,500-meter run as she placed fifth with a time of 4:43.83. Sisters Amanda and Christina Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished next for Quinnipiac, in 16th and 22nd place, respectively. Amanda posted a time of 4:56.57, while Christina finished in 5:02.13.
