STORRS, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track team ran at the UConn Invitational Saturday afternoon at the University of Connecticut's George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex. The Bobcats' meet was highlighted by a strong showing from sophomore Amanda Duggan (Waldwick, N.J) in the triple jump. Duggan's finish was good for eighth in the event as she jumped 10.21 meters.
"We are training extremely hard right now trying to work through meets," Head Coach Carolyn Martin said. "We hope all this effort will pay off and we can continue to improve at future meets this season."
Two member of the Bobcats ran well in the 800 meters. Sophomore Hannah Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.) was the top Quinnipiac runner in the race, posting a time of 2:22.55 for 10th place. Junior Jeana Favat (Gibbsboro, N.J.) was the other Bobcat to post a top time in the 800-meter race, crossing the line in 2:25.75 in 15th place.
Freshman Becca White (Natick, Mass.) was fourth overall in the 5K race. The fourth-place finish earned her the top Quinnipiac spot in the event, crossing the line in 17:59.57. Sophomore Julie Lanning (Victor, N.Y.) was fourth in the steeplechase, posting a time of 11:56.73.
Quinnipiac will next run on Saturday, April 10 in Durham, N.H. The Bobcats will run at the University of New Hampshire in a meet that is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
