Shameal Samuels Finishes 6th in 400m, Distance Medley Relay Places 11th at ECAC Championships in Boston
The Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team wrapped up their 2013-14 campaign with another program-first as sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) became the first Bobcat in the Division I era to place in an event at the ECAC Championships. In a regional event pitting the best competitors from around the Eastern College Athletic Conference, Samuels picked up a 6th place finish in the 400m to help rewrite the Quinnipiac record books. The Bobcats conclude their 2013-14 season with new program records in the 60m, 200m, 300m, 400m, 500m, 800m, 1000m, long jump, triple jump, DMR, and 4x400m relay and were also named New England Champions in the 400m and 4x400m relay for the first time in program history.

Shameal Samuels Becomes QU's First ECAC 400m Finalist; Chelsea Savage Runs Program Record in 1000m at ECAC Championships
Recently crowed New England Champion sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) continued her accent by advancing to the 400m finals at the ECAC Championships on Saturday from the Boston Univ. Track Center. Not to be outdone was the performance of her sophomore teammate Chelsea Savage (Pembroke, Mass.), who broke a five-year-old program record in the 1000m. The Bobcats' work isn't finished at the ECAC Championships as Samuels will compete in the 400m dash finals at 1:15 pm following Quinnipiac's appearance in the distance medley relay finals at 11:30 am on Sunday.

New England Champs: Shameal Samuels in 400m Dash, 4x400m Relay Team Pulls Off Stunning Victory from New England Championships
Saturday was truly a special day for the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team as sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) won the 400m dash and followed that up by helping the 4x400m relay team pull off a stunning upset to win the event and claim a piece of two New England Championships. Sophomores Nia Baker (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Kristen Ulrich (Clark, N.J.) and junior Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) all combined with Samuels to pick up one of the most impressive victories in program history as they stunned a crowded field to come away with the victory in the 4x400m relay. The Bobcats earned a total of 33 points to finish in 9th place out of 22 teams, good for their highest finish at the New England Championships in program history.

Samuels Helps Break Two School Records on Friday to Highlight Women's Indoor Track and Field at New England Championships
Seeded No. 1 overall of all the New England competitors in the 400m dash, sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) certainly didn't disappoint as she helped break two school records and advanced to the 400m finals in Friday's action for Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field at the New England Championships. Samuels torched the competition in the 400m preliminaries and combined with three others to break the school record time in the distance medley relay to highlight the Bobcats' action in day one of the two day New England Championships from the Boston Univ. Track Center.

Shameal Samuels Becomes Quinnipiac's First Individual MAAC Champion to Lead Bobcats to 6th Place at MAAC Championship
Sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) became Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field’s first ever individual champion with a 1st place finish and program record time in the 400m dash in the MAAC Championship on Friday. The Bobcats totaled 62 points on the afternoon, scoring in nine different events to finish in sixth place out of seven competing institutions. Both of Quinnipiac's relay teams (Distance Medley, 4 x 400m) finished in second place in their respective events while freshman Bonnie Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) ran the 60m dash in a record breaking 7.91 seconds to highlight an impressive showing from the Bobcats in their first appearance in the MAAC Championship.

Quinnipiac Women's Indoor Track and Field Leads All MAAC Schools With 20 All-Academic Team Honorees
A total of 20 members of the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team were named to the 2013-14 MAAC Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team on February 21, 2014. Quinnipiac led all seven MAAC programs with their 20 student-athlete honorees who earned the distinction.

Women's Indoor Track and Field in Search of First MAAC Title With Championship Meet Set for Friday
A year after breaking through for the best season in Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field history, reigning NEC Indoor Coach of the Year Carolyn Martin will be guiding her Bobcats into their first ever appearance in the MAAC Championships this Friday, February 21 from The Armory Track and Field Center in New York City. The Bobcats broke all sorts of records last season with 26 record-breaking runs and have added a few more notches to their belt with new program records in five different events through six meets in the 2013-14 season. Quinnipiac is hoping for a strong debut as a new member of the MAAC and will be featuring several of the region’s bests in their respective events.

Becca Stabile Breaks School Record in 500m, Three Bobcats Qualify for ECAC Championships at Valentine Invitational
Junior Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) highlighted a strong day of action that saw the Bobcats breaking another school record, nearly breaking another two and finished with three individuals qualifying for the ECAC Championships in their respective events. In all, 15 different Bobcats notched new personal bests on Friday afternoon including three times from Stabile and sophomores Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) and Chelsea Savage (Pembroke, Mass.) that qualified each for the ECAC Championships.

Shameal Samuels Wins 300m Dash While Alea Simons Advances to 60m Finals for Women's Indoor Track and Field at Harvard
Sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) kept rolling along with a victory in the 300m dash while classmate Alea Simons (Piscataway, N.J.) advanced to the 60m dash finals to lead the way for the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team at the Harvard Invitational. Overall, the Bobcats had 15 performers who finished in the Top 10 overall standings for their respective events while two school records were broken in the process in what was Quinnipiac’s first appearance in their program’s history at the Harvard Invitational.

Shameal Samuels, Chelsea Savage Dominate Respective Events to Highlight Strong Effort in BU Terrier Invite
A pair of sophomore teammates in Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) and Chelsea Savage (Pembroke, Mass.) each had themselves a day at the BU Terrier Invitational on Friday afternoon. Samuels broke her two of her own school records for the second consecutive week while Savage ran the fastest 1000m run for any Bobcat in nearly four years to highlight the day's action for the Quinnipiac women’s indoor track and field team.

Becca Stabile Highlights Women's Indoor Track and Field at Great Dane Classic With First Place Finish in 500m Dash
Amongst one of the most talented fields the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field will face all season, junior Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) put together a dominating run and captured victory in the 500m dash to highlight the Bobcats' effort at the Great Dane Classic. In addition to her convincing victory in the event, Quinnipiac bested two indoor program records on Friday as the Bobcats are starting to round into form heading into the meat of their 2013-14 schedule.

Stabile and Samuels Both Shine in 400m Dash to Highlight Women's Indoor Track and Field at Yale Invitational
In their first action since returning from winter break, the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team jolted right back into the fray with a solid showing at the Yale Invitational at the Coxe Cage. The Bobcats fielded competitors in 12 events on Saturday but none more impressive than their showing in the 400m dash led by their high-powered tandem of junior Becca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.) and sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.) who both landed themselves in the Top 5 overall.

Four Program Records Fall for Women's Indoor Track and Field in 2013-14 Debut at Yale Season Opener
After a milestone season in which the Quinnipiac women's indoor track and field team broken 26 program records in 2012-13, the Bobcats kicked off 2013-14 in grand fashion with three record-setting runs highlighted by sophomore Shameal Samuels (Hartford, Conn.). After helping break three program records last season the standout sophomore tore up the Coxe Cage course with a 25.47 second 200m time to break her own program record established last year at Yale.
