NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Becca White (Natick, Mass.) won the 3k with a personal-best time as the Quinnipiac University women's indoor track team competed at the Yale Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14. at Coxe Cage.

White placed first in the 3,000-meter run as she crossed the finish line in 9:51.96, a personal record and also qualifying time for the ECACs. Sophomore Brianna Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished in fifth place in the 3k with a time of 10:34.10.

Senior Morgan Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) paced the Bobcats with a third-place finish in the one-mile in 5:08.85, followed by sophomore Jessica Soja (Simsbury, Conn.) who finished seventh in 5:15.17.

"I was very happy with Becca and Morgan's performances today," said head coach Carolyn Martin.

Quinnipiac also placed second overall in the distance medley relay. Roche, freshman Rebecca Stabile (Haverhill, Mass.), senior Rachel Morelli (Philadelphia, Pa.), and sophomore Amanda Faust (Macugnie, Pa.) represented the Bobcats in the event and combined for a time of 12:50. In addition, Stabile finished eighth in the 800-meter run in 2:26.97.

"Overall, we really worked the girls hard this weekend and saw some great performances," said Martin. "A lot of the team participated in double events. Although we still need to work on our second performances, I was glad to see the girls fighting in each event. They did a great job of making sure they were battling."
