LANDOVER, Md. - The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track team ran in the final day of the 2011 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Prince George's Country Sports Complex on Sunday. The Bobcats finished ninth amongst 12 teams with 22 points, while Long Island won their second-straight league title with 138 points.

"We really ended the day on a high note," said Quinnipiac Head Coach Carolyn Martin. "With a lot of girls missing this season, the team really ended the conference season in a positive way today. We can't wait for outdoor season to begin and to have girls back healthy."

The Bobcats' Distance Medley Relay team placed second in the finals. Quinnipiac's Rebecca White (Natick, Mass.), Alexandra Seitz (Annandale, N.J.), Hannah Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.) and Kristen Stevens (Succasunna, N.J.), combined to finish the relay in 12:24.97. White led the Bobcats in the 1,200-meter leg, in 3:42, and was followed by Seitz, who ran the 400-meter leg in 1:03, and Donadio, who ran the 800-meter leg in 2:23. Stevens ran the anchor position and completed the one mile in 5:16.The Bobcats won the DMR at last year's annual championship meet.

Quinnipiac also had two runners place in the 5,000-meter run on Sunday. Freshman Amanda Faust (Macungie, Pa.) finished first for the Bobcats and in fifth place overall in a season-best time of 18:23.95, while junior Martha Santandreu (Hamburg, N.Y.) ran a personal-best, 18:47, and placed eighth in the 5k.

In the first day of the NEC Championships, the Bobcats saw three runners place in the 3,000-meter run. Sophomore Rebecca White (Natick, Mass.) finished in third with a time of 10:20.76. Senior Kristen Stevens (Succasunna, N.J.) placed seventh in 10:29.76, while freshman Brianna Faust (Macungie, Pa.) ran the 3k in 10:31.71 for an eighth place finish.

The Bobcats will run at the New England Championships on Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26. Boston University will host the meet at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Mass.
