Women's Indoor Track Opens Season At Yale Lidlifter Invitational
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University women's indoor track
team opened the 2010-11 season at the Yale Lidlifter Invitational
on Saturday, Dec. 4 at Coxe Cage.
"Overall, we had a pretty good day," said Head Coach Carolyn
Martin. "The first meet is always a challenge and we have a lot
of work to do this year. I'm looking forward to a great indoor
season."
The meet was highlighted in the 800-meter race as three Quinnipiac
athletes placed in the top-five positions. Hannah
Donadio (Killingworth, Conn.) finished in third place with a
time of 2:25.26, while Rebecca Smith (Hardyston, N.J.) and
Alexandra Seitz (Annendale, N.J.) finished in fourth and fifth,
respectively. Smith ran the half-mile race in 2:28.33, while Seitz
finished with a time of 2:28.77.
"I'm really excited to see how our 800-meter group will perform
this season," said Martin. "They've already made improvements from
last year and they're running faster, so I am eager to see how this
group develops."
In addition, Kaitlin Kelley (Weymouth, Mass.) finished the mile run
in fourth place with a time of 5:33.66 and Paige Pallotto
(Westbrook, Conn.) ran the 3,000-meter race in 10:54.74, also
