Women’s Tennis Edged By Navy, 4-3
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Quinnipiac University women's tennis team nearly ended one of the nation's longest winning streaks on Monday afternoon, but couldn't quite hold on against Navy in the first match of their spring break trip. The Bobcats fell short by a final score of 4-3.
With the loss, the Bobcats snapped a two-game winning streak and fell to 4-3 on the season. One of the hottest teams in the nation, the Midshipmen improved to 15-3 on the season and extended its current win-streak to 12 straight dating back to the second day in February.
Seniors Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) and Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) picked up career win No. 39 when playing together, however Quinnipiac failed to take the doubles decision. Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, N.J.) went toe-to-toe with Emani Decquir and Sam Droop, but fell short in heartbreaking fashion, 9-8 (6). Mary Chupa (Bradenton, Fla.) and Ariana Launie (Milton, Mass.) came up short in the last match, 8-2, at No. 3.
Quinnipiac fared better in singles play and split three and three with the Midshipmen. Raynor picked up her 53rd career win at No. 2; Viebrock earned career win No. 123 at No. 3; and Launie notched her 46th career win at No. 6.

The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday, March 13 with the second match of their spring break trip. Quinnipiac will take on Southern Illinois in Orlando at 3:30 p.m.
