HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match-up to No. 26 nationally ranked Yale University, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven, Conn. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-7 overall on the season.
The Bulldogs took the doubles point with wins in all three flights, and followed with wins in each of the six singles flights as well. Junior Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) posted the strongest singles score for the Bobcats, falling 6-1, 6-3, to Epstein at No. 1. Quinnipiac's No. 1 and No. 2 doubles registered the strongest doubles scores, both falling 8-4 in their respective matches.
Yale, now 11-3 on the season, returns to the court on Friday against Rutgers. The Bulldogs open Ivy League play one week later against Penn.
