NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshmen Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) and Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, N.J.) advanced to the second round of the doubles bracket on Friday afternoon, as the Bobcats participated in the opening day of the USTA/ITA Division I Women's Northeast Regional Championships at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on the campus of Yale University.
Raynor and Dassa knocked off a tandem from Fairleigh Dickinson in their first match, 8-4, to advance to the second round. Their next opponents come from Cornell University, who handed a pair from Drexel an 8-4 loss. In other doubles' action, junior Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) and sophomore Juliet Labarthe (Oklahoma City, Okla.) were defeated, 8-1, by a twosome from Seton Hall.
