Men’s and Women’s Tennis Head Coach Mike Quitko will be honored as a special guest and presented with an award at the New Haven Open on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Connecticut Tennis Center on the campus of Yale University. Fellow Quinnipiac alumni, parents, faculty and staff will come together for Quinnipiac Night and celebrate Coach Q’s career accomplishments.

Five Teams Recognized By NCAA For Strong APR Report Scores
Five Quinnipiac University athletic teams were recognized by the NCAA for strong Academic Progress Ratings (APR), as announced by members of the association on Friday, June 15, 2012. Women’s basketball once again represented the Bobcats for the fifth consecutive year, while women’s indoor track, women’s outdoor track, women’s cross country and women’s tennis, like last year, were also named to the list.

Viebrock, Dassa Garner All-Northeast Conference Honors
Junior Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) and freshman Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, N.J.) of the Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team earned All-Northeast Conference honors for their performance this season, announced on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 by the league office. Viebrock earned a First Team selection at #3 singles, while Dassa garnered a Second Team selection at #5 singles.

The #2 seeded Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team’s quest for its seventh Northeast Conference Championship came to a close on Sunday afternoon, as the Bobcats were defeated by #1 Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-2, in the NEC Finals at the Mercer County Outdoor Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J. With the loss, the Bobcats conclude the 2011-12 campaign with an overall record of 10-12.

The Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team put forth a dominating performance in the Northeast Conference Semifinals on Saturday afternoon, as the #2 seeded Bobcats topped #3 Sacred Heart, 4-0, to advance to the championship match tomorrow. The Bobcats will take on the winner of the top bracket between #4 LIU Brooklyn and #1 Fairleigh Dickinson.

Junior Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) collected career win No. 100 as the #2 seeded Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team cruised past #7 Saint Francis (Pa.), 4-0, in the Quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference Championships on Friday afternoon at the Mercer County Tennis Center. With the win, the Bobcats advance to the semifinals to take on #3 Sacred Heart tomorrow afternoon, a 2012 regular-season rematch set for 2 p.m.

#2 Women's Tennis Opens 2012 Northeast Conference Championships On Friday
The Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team was recently awarded the #2 seed in the upcoming Northeast Conference Championships, which is set to begin on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J. Fresh off their sixth NEC title last season, the Bobcats open the 2012 playoff against the winner of the #7 Saint Francis (Pa.) and #10 St. Francis (N.Y.) match-up, which will take place on Friday at 9 a.m.

Women's Tennis Edges Fairfield In Intrastate Thriller, 4-3
Sophomore Lavinia Cristescu (West Hartford, Conn.) capped off a thrilling victory for the Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team on Tuesday afternoon, as she and the Bobcats earned a non-conference win over Fairfield University, 4-3, at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts. In addition to Cristescu’s triumph, junior Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) picked up career-wins No. 97 and No. 98, as she paired with fellow captain Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) to defeat a twosome from Fairfield University and won in No. 3 singles.

Freshmen Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, N.J.) and Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, N.Y.) won their 20th doubles match of the year and paced the Quinnipiac University women’s tennis team to a non-conference victory at Providence College on Wednesday afternoon. Dassa and Raynor also collected two of the four QU points in singles competition, lifting the Bobcats to their fifth win of the season.

With the win, QU climbed back to the .500 mark on the season, improving to 2-2 on the young season. Marist falls to 1-1 following a season-opening win at St. Peter's.
