Four Bobcats Advance To Eastern Tennis Invitational Quarterfinals

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Quinnipiac University women's tennis players Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.), Juliet Labarthe (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Lavinia Cristescu (West Hartford, Conn.) and Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) each advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective flights on the first day of the West Point Eastern Tennis Invitational. Markison and Labarthe won a match each in the A and B Singles, respectively, while Cristescu and Steinert won their A Singles match.

Also winning consolation matches were Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.) and Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.).

Markison defeated Army's Jessica Ahn, 6-0, 7-5, at A Singles, while Labarthe got past Sacred Heart's Kate Donnelly, 6-2, 6-3, at B Singles. Cristescu and Steinert made quick work of the St. Bonaventure's duo of Riley Archer and Meredith Haggerty, 8-0.

After falling, 6-2, 6-2, to West Virginia's Emily Mathis, Cantor bounced back with an 8-2 win over St. Bonaventure's Amanda Pallikunnel. Viebrock fell to Adela Aprodu, 7-6 (1), 6-0, before defeating Rhode Island's Jodie Greenlaw, 8-0.
