As a junior:
Won nine singles matches and eight doubles matches for 17
wins ... Paired with Natalie Duckor to win all three of the duos
matches in the season-opening Fairfield Doubles Festival over two
opponents from Fairfield, as well as one from Albany ... Steinert
and Duckor went on to reach the finals of the B Flight Doubles
Championships, before falling to Rhode Island's Pam Emery and
Amanda Barletta ... Won the first set of her two No. 6 singles
matches in the NEC Tournament, before both matches were halted.
As a
sophomore:
Won 14 matches,
seven each in singles and doubles...won four singles matches out of
the No. 4 flight and added a 1-0 mark at No. 3...paired with Nicole
Adams and Shawna Sarson for one doubles win each in tournament
play, before earning five doubles victories with Natalie
Duckor...named to the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
As a freshman:
Named Second-Team All-NEC at both No. 5 singles and No. 3
doubles ... won 20 matches ... earned nine singles wins, including
five victories at the No. 5 flight ... tallied 11 doubles
victories, pairing with six different partners.
Before Quinnipiac:
Was one of the top players in her native Germany, reaching
the No. 42 ranking in her division ... played competitively for
nearly a decade ... spent two years as an Au Pair in the United
States, most recently in Stamford, Conn ... a graduate of BSZ
Meerane.
Personal:
The daughter of Martina and Ulrich Steinert ... has an
older sister, Kathleen...an international business and marketing
