April 10, 2010 HAMDEN, Conn. - Four Quinnipiac University women's tennis players won at both singles and doubles as the Bobcats defeated intrastate Northeast Conference foe Sacred Heart, 6-1, Saturday afternoon on the Quinnipiac Outdoor Tennis Courts. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 8-5 (2-1 NEC), while the Pioneers fall to 8-12 (2-2 NEC). Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.), Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.), Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.) and Natalie Duckor (North Tustin, Calif.) each won twice for the Bobcats.

Wilson paired with Markison to defeat Darcy Demers and Julianne Kasinow, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles, before scoring a 6-2, 6-2, victory over Kate Donnelly at No. 1 singles. Markison breezed past Elizabeth Harrington at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Cantor paired with fellow freshman Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) on an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles over Harrington and Kristina Chao. She then beat Demers, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles to complete the double win. Viebrock was defeated by Chao at No. 4 singles, 7-6, 6-4.

Duckor combined with Shawna Sarson (Albany, N.Y.) on an 8-7 victory over Donnelly and Delaney Downing at No. 3 doubles. She then made quick work of Kasinow, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5 singles.

Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) earned a victory at No. 6 singles, defeating Downing, 6-2, 6-0.

The Bobcats return to action Monday, when they travel to the University of Massachusetts. Matches are set to begin at 3 p.m. in Amherst, Mass.
