Markison went 3-1 on the week, including a pair of singles victories out of the No. 3 flight. She began the week with a 6-3, 6-3, victory over Army's Kristin Beehler, accounting for the Bobcats' lone point at West Point. She was then a double winner in the Bobcats' 7-0 victory against Providence. Markison paired with Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) to defeat Marisela Aviles-Duron and Ayushi Shinha, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles, before beating Melanie Albert, 6-1, 6-0, in singles. Markison is now 10-1 in singles play in 2009-10 and 20-7 overall.
Cantor finished her week with a pair of victories against Providence. She first paired with fellow freshman Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) to defeat Albert and Jennifer Cusack, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles. Cantor then defeated Shinha, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 2 singles. She's now 20-9 overall, including an 11-4 mark in singles play for the season.
