Women's Tennis Sweeps Hartford, 7-0

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - Four Quinnipiac University women's tennis players earned double wins as the Bobcats swept Hartford, 7-0, Saturday afternoon. Rachel Cantor (Short Hills, N.J.), Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.), Sarah Viebrock (Carmel, N.Y.) and Carly Loewenstein (Armonk, N.Y.) all won twice for the Bobcats, who improved to 4-0 on the season.

Cantor and Viebrock combined to defeat Livia Blasque and Margaret Sabatino at No. 1 doubles, 9-7. Cantor then beat Sabatino, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles, while Viebrock also blanked Kaitlin Lennon, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 singles.

Markison paired with Shawna Sarson (Albany, N.Y.) to beat Nicole Haynal and Lennon, 8-2, at No. 2 doubles, before making quick work of Haynal, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.

Loewenstein and Erin Suvar (Massapequa, N.Y.) combined on an 8-1 No. 3 doubles victory over Margaret Potkay and Emily Menafra. Loewenstein then defeated Potkay, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6 for her first career singles victory in a dual match.

Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) and Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) also earned singles victories. Wilson defeated Blasque, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1, while Steinert beat Amanda Epstein, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4.

The Bobcats return to action Sunday, when they travel to Hanover, N.H., to take on Dartmouth. Matches are set to begin at noon.
