HAMDEN, Conn. Four Quinnipiac University women's tennis players have been named All-Northeast Conference, the league office today announced. Freshman Natalie Duckor (North Tustin, Calif.) headlines the group, being named the NEC Rookie of the Year while earning first-team recognition at the No. 3 singles flight. Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.), Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.), Kasey Rosenberger (Pittsford, N.Y.) and Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) round out the Bobcats' all-league honorees.
Duckor finished her rookie campaign with a team-high 19 singles wins, including 11 in dual matches. She was a perfect 5-0 against conference opponents, winning each match in straight sets.
The 2008 NEC Player of the Year, Wilson took second-team honors after winning 14 matches at the top singles flight. Eight of her wins came in dual matches, including a 2-1 record against NEC opponents.
Markison, the 2008 NEC Rookie of the Year, was selected to the second team at No. 2 singles. She won 14 matches, including 10 in dual matches. Markison went 4-1 against conference foes.
Rosenberger and Adams earned first-team recognition at No. 3 doubles. The duo earned seven wins in dual matches, including a perfect 4-0 record against NEC competition.
Wilson and Markison also shared second-team honors at No. 1 doubles. The pair won 12 of their 13 matches in dual matches. Wilson and Markison won four of five matches against NEC opponents.
