Women's Tennis Beats Robert Morris, 4-0, In NEC Quarterfinals

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Natalie Duckor (North Tustin, Calif.), Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J) and Kasey Rosenberger were double winners as the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team defeated No. 8 Robert Morris, 4-0, Friday afternoon in NEC Tournament Quarterfinal action at Mercer County Park. With the win, the Bobcats (8-10) advance to play No. 4 Sacred Heart in Saturday morning's semifinals.

Markison paired with Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) to defeat Kali Delorie and Libby Shaw, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles, before beating Ekaterina Rudneva, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

Duckor and Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) beat Rudneva and Maria Olausson, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles. Duckor then beat Shaw, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.

Rosenberger combined with Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) to breeze past Emily Himmel and Gwen Dalphon, 8-0, at No. 3 doubles. Rosenberger then defeated Sara Meier, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles to clinch the match.

The Bobcats were in control in each of the remaining matches, which were halted with the result no longer in doubt.

Saturday's semifinal match against Sacred Heart is scheduled for 9 a.m. The Bobcats won the first meeting between the two teams, 5-2, April 2 in Fairfield.
