Women's Tennis Defeats Sacred Heart, 5-2

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.), Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.) and Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) each earned double wins as the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team defeated intrastate Northeast Conference foe Sacred Heart, 5-2, Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 6-8 (2-0 NEC), while the Pioneers fall to 7-6 (1-2 NEC).

Wilson and Markison paired to defeat Nicole Betz and Kate Donnelly, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles. Wilson then defeated Donnelly, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, while Markison earned a 7-6, 6-3, win against Darcy Demers at No. 2 singles.

Adams combined with Kasey Rosenberger (Pittsford, N.Y.) at No. 3 doubles to defeat Elizabeth Harrington and Kristina Chao, 8-3, before beating Delaney Downing, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 6 singles.

Natalie Duckor (North Tustin, Calif.) also registered a win for the Bobcats, defeating Julianne Kasinow, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3 singles.

The Bobcats return to action Saturday, when they face Northeast Conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson. Matches are set to begin at noon in Hackensack, N.J.
