Women's Tennis Falls At UConn, 5-1

STORRS, Conn. Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) won at No. 1 singles, but the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team was defeated at Connecticut, 5-1, Tuesday afternoon. Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) and Kasey Rosenberger (Pittsford, N.Y.) also won at No. 3 doubles for the Bobcats. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-8, while the Huskies improve to 7-7.

Wilson defeated Kelly LoRusso, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1 singles, while Adams and Rosenberger beat Alexa Gregory and Emily Searle, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles. Adams' No. 6 singles match was halted due to darkness, after she won the first set, 6-2, and was trailing in the second set, 5-4.

The Bobcats return to action Thursday, when they travel to intrastate NEC foe Sacred Heart. Matches are set to begin at 2 p.m. in Fairfield.
