Women's Tennis Falls To Binghamton, 7-0
HAMDEN, Conn. Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.) and Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.) combined to win at No. 1 doubles, but the Quinnipiac University women's tennis team was defeated by Binghamton, 7-0, Sunday afternoon on the Quinnipiac Outdoor Tennis Courts. With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-7 on the season, while the Bearcats improve to 9-2.
Markison and Wilson combined to defeat Jillian Santos and Yulia Smirnova, 8-1, in the top doubles flight, but the Bobcats fell at the second and third doubles positions to drop the doubles point.
Binghamton also swept all six singles flights to earn the 7-0 victory.
The Bobcats return to action Thursday, when they travel to Kingston, R.I., to take on the University of Rhode Island. Matches are set to begin at 3 p.m.
