Women's Tennis Sweeps Hofstra, 7-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – Four Bobcats earned double wins as the Quinnipiac women's tennis team swept Hofstra, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Indoor Tennis Courts. Mary Wilson (Greensburg, Pa.), Adrienne Markison (Princeton, N.J.), Natalie Duckor (Tustin, Calif.) and Lisanne Steinert (Glauchau, Germany) each notched double wins as the Bobcats pushed their record at 2-1 for the season. Kasey Rosenberger (Pittsford, N.Y.) also earned a win for the Bobcats.

Wilson paired with Markison to defeat Lauren Clifton and Stacey Kent, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles before winning against Clifton at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Markison took care of Christie Gattelaro, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

Duckor and Steinert combined to defeat Gattelaro and Brooke Sailer, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles. Duckor also defeated Kent, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, while Steinert beat Sailer, 6-4, 6-0, at No. 4.

Rosenberger defeated Tracy Ferrar, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 singles, while Nicole Adams (New Windsor, N.Y.) took a win by default at No. 6 singles. Adams also didn't get the opportunity to play doubles with partner Shawna Sarson (Albany, N.Y.), taking a win by default at the No. 3 flight.

The Bobcats return to action Sunday, when they travel to Boston University. Matches are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
