Stephen Coxon brings a diverse background of experience in collegiate, professional and international soccer to his position on the Quinnipiac staff. In 2014, Coxon returns for his eighth season on the Bobcats’ sideline as an assistant coach.

Coxon joined the Bobcats with nine years of high school and college coaching experience. Prior to Quinnipiac, Coxon led the Farmington High School Girls Soccer team to a No. 5 national ranking and a 108-9-8 record over seven seasons.

Coxon also has served as the director of coaching for the Connecticut Football Club and Connecticut United Football Club since 2000. The CFC Girls and Boys Premier club is currently ranked No. 20 in the nation.

Coxon's resume also includes an assistant coaching stint at the University of New Haven from 1997-99.Other coaching achievements include a USSF "B" License, being named 2003 CJSA Female Soccer Connecticut Coach of the Year, 2004 CGCSA Female Soccer Connecticut High School Coach of the Year and being the head coach of the 2003 CFC Wolves, who were ranked No. 1 in the Nation and were Region 1 Champions.

In 2012, Coxon was voted into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame.

Coxon is also the founder and president of CFC LLC. CFC consists of 100 premier girls and boys soccer teams located in the state of Connecticut. CFC also runs year round clinics and camps located throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Presently, Coxon is also one of the owners and operators of the CFC Arena, a 40,000 square foot indoor center located in Hamden, Conn and the Waterbury Athletic Center a 35,000 indoor soccer center and gym in Waterbury, Conn.

He holds a BA in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University.
