Bobcats Travel To In-State
Rival Fairfield
The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team travels to in-state rival Fairfield on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 PM. The matchup is a battle between the undefeated Bobcats (2-0-1 MAAC) and undefeated Stags (2-0 MAAC). Fairfield was projected to finish first in the MAAC this season while the Bobcats were projected to finish 8th. 

Last Time Out
A pair of late second half goals proved to be the difference on Saturday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University women's soccer team garnered its second conference win with a 2-0 decision over Rider at the QU Soccer Field. Junior Caitlyn Shaw (North Haven, Conn.) and senior Beck Kiting (Canberra, Australia) each picked up a goal in the winning effort.

Scouting the Stags
Fairfield is off to a 6-4 start. They are coming off a 2-1 win over Marist on Saturday, Sept.28 after defeating Saint Peter's in their MAAC opener 4-0. Fairfield returns 17 players from last year's squad. Eight of those players made at least ten starts last season. The 2012 team went 11-6-2 overall and 8-1-0 in the conference. clinching a share of the regular season title before being upset by Loyola in the MAAC semifinals. The Stags are led by midfielder Nikki Stanton. Stanton is  a two time defending  First Team All MAAC player. Fairfield also returns their leading scorer from a season ago in Shannon Fay. Fay had five goals and two assists in 2012.

Grodzki Named Defensive Player of the Week
After two stellar performances last week, sophomore Natalia Grodzki (Bartlett, Ill.) has been named the MAAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 by the league's office. Grodzki was instrumental in net for the Bobcats, which included a week that saw the Bobcats go 1-0-1 to put them on top of the MAAC table.

McKeever Doubles Up
With a penalty kick goal against Siena senior Aine McKeever tallied her second goal of the season which equals her career high for a season. The defender/midfielder is tied with freshman Jessica Fontaine for the team lead in goals.

Fontaine Named MAAC Rookie of the Week
After a game in which she had four points freshman Jessica Fontaine (Enfield, Conn.) has been named the MAAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, announced Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 by the league's office. Fontaine was a key contributor in the Bobcats first win as a member of the MAAC. Fontaine finished the day on Saturday with a goal and two assists as the Bobcats opened conference play with a 3-0 win over Saint Peter's.

A First for Quinnipiac
With a win over Saint Peter's on Saturday, Sept. 21 the women's soccer team picked up the first MAAC win in any sport for Quinnipiac. The Bobcats women's soccer team was the first Quinnipiac team to win a game at the Division I level in 1998.

Grodzki & Graessle Combine For Clean Sheet
On Saturday,Sept. 21 sophomore goalie Natalie Grodzki (Bartlett, Ill.) and junior goalie Tori Graessle (Millburn, N.J.) combined for a shutout in the Bobcats' first game as a member of the MAAC against Saint Peter's. Grodzki played 76 minutes in net making two saves while Graessle finished out the final 14 minutes of the win. Grodzki also posted a clean sheet on Sunday Sept. 8 through two overtimes against Holy Cross and a clean sheet against Rider on Saturday Sept. 28 .

The Senior Class
Quinnipiac brings back four seniors for the 2013 campaign. Taylor Healey, Beck Kiting, Aine McKeever and Mary Corrado are all set for one last go in a Bobcats' uniform. Healey played in all 17 games last season while starting in 13 of them and had two goals on the year. Kiting started all 17 games last year and had two game winning goals for the Bobcats including one against Mount St Mary's (10/14) in the 106th minute. McKeever played in all 17 games, which included 14 in a starting role, scoring one goal and assisting on two others while Corrado played in three games.

Shutdown defense
The Quinnipiac women's soccer team defense ranked nationally in two NCAA defensive statistics and goals against average in 2012. The team posted a .737 goals against average which ranked 34th nationally while they were tied with Western Illinois for 42nd in the nation with a .471 shutout percentage.

MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team was selected to finish eighth in the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the league office on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The Bobcats, who have advanced to postseason play in three of their last five seasons, will look to turn some heads in their first season in the MAAC.

#15 For Clarke
Head Coach Dave Clarke enters his 15th season at the helm of the Bobcats women's soccer program while entering his first season in the MAAC Conference. Through his first 14 seasons at Quinnipiac, Clarke owns a 117-110-24 record. He picked up his 100th career win back in the 2010 campaign with a win over Bryant University.

An Honor for Eriksen
Sophomore defender Nicole Eriksen (Stamford, Conn.) was named to the 2013 College Sports Madness MAAC Conference Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference Second Team, announced on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 by members of the association. The list of athletes includes the top players in women's soccer for the upcoming campaign.

Going to Disney World
The MAAC hosts one sport every year as a part of a four sport rotation at the ESPN World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The 2013 MAAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be the tournament held at the complex. Instead of the normal four team format every MAAC Conference team qualifies for the tournament held from October 31st to November 2nd.

The Look Ahead for the Bobcats
The Bobcats will be on the road for their next game. On Saturday, Oct. 5th they will travel to New York to take on Iona. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM.
