HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer senior Shauna Edwards (Southington, Conn.) was selected to the Northeast Conference and the College Sports Madness Northeast Conference All-Conference first team, as announced on Friday, Nov. 2.
Edwards was tied for fifth in the conference in assists with four on the season posting .24 assists per game placing her at number eight in the Northeast Conference. The senior midfielder earned two goals on the Bobcats impressive season.
The veteran's first goal of the season can against Bryant registering a goal off of a penalty kick in the 20th minute of play to counter the Bulldogs lead, 1-1. Edwards' goal was not enough for the Bobcats to pull though with the victory, falling to the Bulldogs 2-1.
Against Robert Morris, Edwards was able to get the offense going midway through the first half as the Bobcats were on a quest for a playoff bid into the post season. Edwards had connected off of a long cross from freshman Amanda Barroca (Bellmont, N.Y.) to send it past RMU's goalkeeper to put the Bobcats in the driver's seat for the rest of the game.
Edwards finishes her career in Bobcat uniform with eight goals, 10 assists and 26 points for Quinnipiac.
