Scouting the Knights
The Knights are off to a 3-3-3 start in the 2012 season and rank fourth in the NEC Conference.  The Knights suffered recent tough losses to Rider, 1-2, and Binghamton, 0-1.  Freshman Striker Rebecca Hoekstra already has five of the Knights 12 goals this season and was named the NEC Rookie of the Week back in the beginning of September.  Fairleigh Dickinson is coming off a tough 1-0 loss from the Bearcats at home. The Knights had many opportunities in the second half outshooting Binghamton 8-4, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Series History with Fairleigh Dickinson
Friday's match-up marks the 13th all-time meeting between Quinnipiac and Fairleigh Dickinson. The Bobcats lead the all-time series, 8-3-1. At home, the Bobcats hold a 5-1 record against the Knights, and are 3-2-1 on the road with the NEC opponent. Last season, Quinnipiac defeated FDU, 4-2, on the QU Soccer Field.

The Blue Devils will play Monmouth prior to coming to Quinnipiac on Sunday.  Central Connecticut stands at 1-6 to start the 2012 season, suffering tough losses to Providence, 2-1, Siena, 2-1, and Yale, 1-0.  The Blue Devils are coming off of a four game losing streak and looking for a way to end it. In their last meeting against the Bulldogs, Yale outshot the Blue Devils 16-8 while CCSU goalkeeper Nikola Deiter totaled five saves.

Central Connecticut State leads the all-time series with Quinnipiac, 5-9. In their most recent outing, the Blue Devils defeated the Bobcats, 4-2, on Oct. 28, 2011, on the CCSU Soccer Field in New Britain, Conn.

The Bobcats' unbeaten streak came to a close on Wednesday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University women's soccer team was defeated by Harvard University, 3-0.  The bad luck continued on Sunday, Sept. 16 when the Bobcats suffered a 1-0 overtime loss to Siena. With the losses, the Bobcats fell to 4-2-1 overall.

Rookie Knows Best
Freshman Shannon Larkin was named the Northeast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 10. The honor is the forward's first of her career. The tally was Larkin's first collegiate goal that led Quinnipiac to the 1-0 victory over Hartford.

She improved to 4-0 on the year with her third shutout against Hartford on Sept. 9. Kelley so far has been named by the NEC for Defensive Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks on Aug. 27 and Sept. 4.
