Women’s Soccer Adds Three Players to 2013 Roster
Quinnipiac University women’s soccer head coach Dave Clarke has announced that Jessica Fontaine (Enfield, Conn.), Kelly Caruso (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Tara Surick (Freehold, N.J.) will join the Bobcats’ roster for the upcoming season. Quinnipiac will embark on a challenging MAAC schedule for the first time this fall.

Quinnipiac women’s soccer coach Dave Clarke and director of athletics & recreation Jack McDonald and were recently named to the 2013 Irish Sports Top 50. The first annual Irish Sports Top 50 is presented by the Irish Voice, which also honors the Irish Legal 100 and the Irish Education 100.

Former Women’s Soccer Standout Sara Lawlor Named Bus Éireann National Women’s League Player of the Year
Former Quinnipiac women’s soccer standout and Peamount United striker Sara Lawlor began a professional stint in Ireland after her time at Quinnipiac and has blossomed into one of the league’s finest attackers. Lawlor was named the 2013 Bus Éireann National Women’s League Player of the Year, which was announced on May 14 by league officials.

Women’s Soccer Inducts Five Members to All- Time Team
HAMDEN, Conn.- The Quinnipiac University Women's Soccer program inducted five members into their All-Time Team on Saturday, April 20, at their annual men’s and women’s soccer banquet. In 2007, the Top 20 players were announced in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the program. The five new additions of the team coincide with the 25th anniversary of the soccer program. The following five players were added to the All-Time Team for their contribution to the Quinnipiac Women’s soccer program: Alison Jaquith, Justine Lombardi, Kyla Miles, Meagan McLoughlin and Furtuna Velaj.

Taylor Healy Named Women’s Soccer Player of the Year
Senior Taylor Healy (Milford, Conn.) was named the Quinnipiac University Women’s Soccer Player of the Year at the Quinnipiac men’s and women’s soccer program’s annual banquet on Saturday, April 20. Senior Shauna Edwards (Southington, Conn.) received the Players’ Player of the year accolade. While freshman Nicole Eriksen (Stamford, Conn.) was honored as the Newcomer of the Year. Additionally Angela Ellison (Peabody, Mass.) was selected as the Academic Player of the Year and senior Jill Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.) earned Team Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

Women's Soccer to Host Fourth Annual "Give Cancer The Boot" Fundraiser Event
The Quinnipiac University women’s soccer team is once again working in conjunction with the Intramurals Department on campus and will host the fourth annual “Give Cancer the Boot” fundraiser event on Saturday, May 4, 2013. The event will feature a co-ed 4x4 soccer tournament on Mount Carmel Campus at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field - with all the action set to begin at 10 a.m. This year’s tournament will be held in honor of Christina Palmieri, a former Quinnipiac soccer player who was diagnosed with cancer.

Women’s Soccer Host “Take Me Out” Fundraiser Monday Night, April 22
The Quinnipiac Women’s Soccer team will be holding a “Take Me Out” fundraiser event on Monday, April 22, to help benefit the Herron Project. The team has planned a night of fun to take place with other participating student-athletes based on the popular dating show. The event will be open to students around campus and will begin at 9 p.m. at Burt Khan Court. A $2 fee will be collected at the door with all proceeds going directly to the Herron Project.

Quinnipiac Soccer's #26 Uniforms Auction a Huge Success; Bobcats Raise Over $30,000 for Scholarship Fund
The Quinnipiac University soccer programs' world-wide fundraiser for the town of Newtown enjoyed remarkable success as the Bobcats surpassed the $30,000 mark when the auction closed on Sunday, April 14 at 10 p.m. The Bobcats began their auction for #26 jerseys on March 14, 2013, which saw jerseys donated by soccer teams from around the world, to raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of Rachel Marie D'Avino - the cousin of former Quinnipiac captain, Lauren Carmody-Grenier '02.

Soccer Night In Newtown A Great Success; Quinnipiac and MLS Host Clinic For Children
Quinnipiac University soccer partnered with Major League Soccer (MLS) and CFC Azul to host a special “Soccer Night in Newtown” on Monday, January 7, 2013. The event was held from 4-8 p.m. at the Newtown Youth Academy Sports & Fitness Center in Newtown. More than 30 members of the men’s and women’s soccer programs participated in the event that attracted nearly 1,500 people.

Quinnipiac women's soccer seniors Jillian Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.) and Shauna Edwards (Southington, Conn.) were selected to play in the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl announced by coaches all around the region. The game is set to take place on Sunday, December 2 at Merrimack College in Boston, Mass. (11 a.m.).

The Quinnipiac University women’s soccer program earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year. Quinnipiac was one of the schools honored nationwide by the NSCAA after posting a grade-point average (GPA) above 3.0.

Women’s Soccer Concludes Season with 2-1 Loss at St. Francis (Pa.)
The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team lost to Saint Francis (Pa.), 2-1, in their final regular-season game at DeGol Field in Loretto, Pa. With the loss, the Bobcats conclude their 2012 season with an overall record of 9-6-2, including a 5-4-1 mark in conference competition. Saint Francis (Pa.) completes an undefeated NEC season, improving to 13-4-2 overall, 10-0 in the NEC.

Kiting Does It Again; Women's Soccer Tops Robert Morris With Late Goal, 2-1
Junior Beck Kiting (Canberra, Australia) scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute of action to lead the Bobcats to the 2-1 victory over the Colonials of Robert Morris Friday afternoon at Joe Walton Stadium. With the victory, the Bobcats improve to 9-5-2 (5-3-1 NEC), while Robert Morris falls to 1-16-2 (1-7-1 NEC) in the season. The triumph puts the Bobcats one step closer to qualifying for a playoff bid into the postseason.

Women's Soccer Spends Weekend In Pennsylvania Playing For Playoff Bid
The Bobcats finish up their 2012-13 season on the road this weekend. Friday, October 26, at 2 pm the Bobcats face off against Robert Morris on Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pa. Sunday, October 28, Quinnipiac will take on the Red Flash of St. Francis (Pa.) at 1 pm on DeGol Field in Loretto, Pa. This road trip will mark the last chance the Bobcats have to make a play off bid in the Northeast Conference Semifinals and Championship taking place next weekend.

The Quinnipiac University women’s soccer team suffered an unsettling setback on Tuesday afternoon, as the Bobcats dropped an NEC match-up to Sacred Heart, 1-0, at the QU Soccer Field on Mount Carmel Campus. With the loss, Quinnipiac falls 8-5-2 overall - but more importantly descends to 4-3-1 in the Northeast Conference and three points behind the Pioneers in the standings.

The Bobcats will continue their 2012-13 season on Friday, October 19, at home versus intrastate rival Sacred Heart. The Pioneers are ranked seventh in the NEC and mark a 5-7-2 record so far this year. This will be the last home game of regular season before the NEC playoffs start the first week in November.

Junior Beck Kiting (Canberra, Australia) scored in the sixth minute of the second overtime period on Sunday afternoon, as the Quinnipiac University women's soccer team topped Northeast Conference foe Mount St. Mary’s, 3-2, in thrilling fashion on Senior Day at the QU Soccer Field on Mount Carmel Campus. Kiting’s fifth career goal served as the golden goal, lifting the Bobcats to their fourth NEC win of the season.

The Bobcats return home on Sunday, October 14, to take on Mount St. Mary’s of Emmitsburg, Maryland. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on the QU Soccer Field. Quinnipiac will honor its ten graduating student-athletes prior to Sunday’s game against Mount St. Mary’s. The Bobcats will recognize seniors Jill Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.), Chacha Naito (Oneonta, N.Y.), Maggie Yahn (Sharon, Conn.), Shauna Edwards (Southington, Conn), Jillian Strassner (Avon, Conn.), Paula Kennedy (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.), Diana Di Muro (Orlando, Fla.), Crystal Burns (Overland Park, Kan.), Kemesha Woodfine (Stamford, Conn), and Chrissy Fancy (Orleans, Mass.) for their accomplishments while at Quinnipiac.

With the loss the Bobcats overall record drops to 7-4-2, and 3-2-1 in the Northeast conference play. The Bulldogs improves to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the NEC.

Sophomore Christina Cesarini (Garden City, N.Y.) provided two goals against Wagner on Friday evening, as the Quinnipiac University women's soccer team defeated Wagner College, 4-1, in a Northeast Conference match-up at the Wagner College Stadium. Quinnipiac's goals were scored by three different players, improving its overall record to 7-3-2 overall, and 3-1-1 in the conference. The Seahawks drop to 4-9 overall and 1-3 in the NEC.

The Seahawks are ranked ninth in NEC play, 4-8 overall and 1-2 in the Northeast Conference. The Bobcats then travel to Smithfield, R.I to take on the Bryant Bulldogs at Bulldog Stadium at 3 p.m. Bryant is ranked fourth behind Quinnipiac in the NEC with a 7-6 start overall and 2-2 in the NEC.

Senior goalkeeper Jill Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.) of the women's soccer team was named the Northeast Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week as well as College Sports Madness Player of the Week for the Northeast Conference, announced on Monday, September 24, 2012 by the league office. Kelley provided two shutouts this weekend as Quinnipiac opened conference play for the Bobcats.

With the loss, the Bobcats drop to 4-2-1 on the season, while the hosting Saints improve to 2-4 in non-conference competition.

The NEC honor is the forward’s first of her career.

Quinnipiac women's soccer senior forward Kemesha Woodfine's (Stamford, Conn.) goal in the 27th minute of play was all the Bobcats needed, as they defeated Holy Cross, 1-0, at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium in Worcester, Mass. The win improves the Bobcats record to 3-0, while the loss brings the Crusaders' record to 1-2-1 on the season. This is the first 3-0 start for the Bobcats since 1988.

With the win, the Bobcats improve to 1-1 against the Catamounts all-time, and 2-0 on the young season.

Quinnipiac women’s soccer head coach Dave Clarke has announced the Bobcats’ 2012 schedule, which will feature eight of Quinnipiac’s first 11 games at home, with 10 games at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field throughout the season. Last season, Quinnipiac was 5-10-1 overall including a 4-6 record in Northeast Conference play.
