HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University women’s soccer team hosted the 2011 Alumni Game on Sunday, Aug. 21. Thirteen former Bobcats represented the alumni, including:
“It was a competitive game,” said head coach Dave Clarke. “I was happy to see a lot of the former players back.”
The 2011 Quinnipiac women’s soccer team defeated the alumni, 2-0, in a match-up held at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field. The Bobcats’ goals were scored by sophomore Mary Rose Corrado (Colchester, Conn.) and junior transfer Crystal Burns (Overland Park, Kan.).
“The game itself was a good exercise,” said Clarke. “We needed to play against different players because it gave us the chance to work on different formations, different systems and player personnel. The fact that the alumni had so many quality players returning was a bonus.”
The Bobcats begin the 2011 season with a home-opener against Army on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. at the QU Soccer Field.
