Games of the Regular Season
The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team (5-7-3,
3-2-3 NEC) hosts their last two Northeast Conference games of the
2010 season at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field this weekend. The
Bobcats face Sacred Heart (8-5-4, 4-2-2 NEC) on Friday, Oct. 29 at
2 p.m. and Fairleigh Dickinson (2-14, 2-6 NEC) on Sunday, Oct. 31
at 1 p.m.

Sunday
The Quinnipiac women's soccer team will honor nine seniors
at Sunday's game against Fairleigh Dickinson. Awards will be

NEC
Standings
Quinnipiac is currently ranked sixth in the NEC, while
Sacred Heart is ranked third and Fairleigh Dickinson is
10th. Leading the conference with 22 points is Long
Island University. With two wins on the weekend, the Bobcats can
clinch playoff berth. The NEC Tournament will be held on Friday,
Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 7 at the highest seed.
Scouting
Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart is currently 8-5-4 overall and 4-2-2 in
conference play. In their most recent outing, the Pioneers beat
Robert Morris, 4-0, on Oct. 24. The Pioneers also defeated NEC
opponents Mount St. Mary's, 2-1, Wagner, 2-0, and Fairleigh
Dickinson, 1-0, this season. Sacred Heart has tallied 25 goals and
21 assists in 17 games. Leading the Pioneers with 13 points is
junior Amanda Stiles. The midfielder has four goals and five
assists on the season. Juniors Samantha Kee and Lucy Gildein have
each scored five goals. Senior Meghan Reichelt has started in every
game for the Pioneers. She's allowed 17 goals and recorded 72 saves
on the season. Sacred Heart is coached by Kim Banner, who's in her
6th season.

Quinnipiac holds an overall record of 3-5-4 with Sacred
Heart. In their most recent outing, the Bobcats tied the Pioneers
in a scoreless match in 2009. Quinnipiac outshot Sacred Heart,
13-11, in the draw. In the 2008 season, Quinnipiac beat Sacred
Heart, 3-0, on home turf. Furtuna

Kelley recorded five saves.

FDU
Fairleigh Dickinson
is currently 2-14 on the season and 2-6 in the NEC. In their most
recent match-up, the Knights lost to Saint Francis (Pa.), 3-2, on
Oct. 24. Fairleigh Dickinson's two conference wins of the season
are against Mount St. Mary's (1-0) and Robert Morris (2-1). The
Knights have tallied seven goals on the season. Rashidah Sherman
leads FDU with four goals and nine points. Noelle Harner leads the
team in assists (3). Sage Dovale has played in three games for the
Knights, making 16 saves, while Stephanie Tanzi has allowed 25
goals and recorded 76 saves in 14 games. Renee Montana has been the
Knights' Head Coach since 2006.

with the Bobcats holding a 6-3-1 advantage. In their most recent

Monday Night
Football
Quinnipiac is coming off a 1-0 lost at Harvard University
on Monday, Oct. 25. The game's only goal was scored in the
102nd minute of play by Harvard sophomore Alexandra
Conigliaro. Quinnipiac goalie Jillian
Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.) saw the first 25 minutes of action and
recorded three saves, while senior Kendra
Margulies (Weston, Mass.) saw 76 minutes, allowed one goal and
made seven saves in her first match of the
season.
Strassner
Saves the Day
The Bobcats recently
played Bryant to a 1-0 victory on Friday, Oct. 22. Sophomore
midfielder Jillian
Strassner (Avon, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal in the
61st minute of play. Strassner is second on the team in
goals (4) and has tallied one assist on the season.
Leading Ladies
Junior forward Furtuna
Velaj (Stamford, Conn.) leads the Bobcats in points (14), goals
(5) and assists (4). Close behind is sophomore Jillian
Strassner with nine points, four goals and one assist on the
season.
Kelley's A Keeper
Junior Jillian
Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.), 4-6-3, has a 1.27 GAA and a .789 save
percentage. Kelley's earned four shutouts this fall.
