Women's Soccer Edged By Holy Cross, 2-1
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Quinnipiac women's soccer team lost, 2-1, to
non-conference opponent Holy Cross on Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Linda
Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. With the loss the Bobcats drop to 0-4
on the season while Holy Cross improves to 2-3 overall.
"Overall it was (the team's) best performance to date," said Head
Coach Dave Clarke. "We kept the ball moving and created chances.
The team really came together."
Senior Lauren Peacock (Hopedale, Mass.) scored Quinnipiac's only
goal of the game in the 37
th minute of play off of an
assist from fellow senior Kyla Myles (Newtown, Conn.). The goal was
Peacock's first of the season.
Junior goalkeeper Jillian Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.) started in goal
for the Bobcats making a total of five saves. Starting in net for
the Crusaders and making three saves was Mary Ferketic.
Senior forward Shelby Stand scored both goals for Holy Cross in the
first half of the game. The first goal was scored in the

th minute of play after recovering the ball from 18
yards out. The next goal was scored in the 32
nd minute
of the game off of an assist from Gaby Ransom.
Quinnipiac looks to next weekend as they host two non-conference
games against Dartmouth on Friday, Sept 17 at 3 p.m. and Rhode
Island on Sunday, Sept. 19 at noon at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field
in Hamden, Conn.
