Natalie Kosko Named Rugby Mag 2013 Women’s U20 Player of the Year

Hamden, Conn.- Quinnipiac University sophomore Natalie Kosko (Sebastian, Fla.) was recently named Rugby Mag's 2013 Women's U20 Player of the Year.  Rugby Mag selects a player each year for the award in five different categories for women's rugby; U20, College, Club 15s, High School, and break out player.

"Natalie's selection came as no surprise to QU Rugby, said head coach Becky Carlson. "Her stats clearly speak for themselves with her most valuable attribute continuing to be her unmatched explosive power. Coupled with her determination and commitment, Natalie continues to take advantage of every opportunity to develop into a more complete rugby athlete. We are extremely proud of Natalie for her continued contributions and performances both on and off the field."

The Bobcats' wing finished her sophomore campaign leading the Northeast Conference in scoring with 165 points (33 Tries) for the Bobcats during the 2013-14 season. Kosko currently leads the program in points with 280 in her two seasons under coach Carlson.

As a two-year member of the US U20 Team, Kosko competed this summer in the 2013 Nations Cup in England.  The sophomore was also named to the U20s 'Five to Watch' in 2013.

Kosko will be traveling with the USA Rugby team to Las Vegas, NV from January 23-25 where she will be participating in the Sevens International Event at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.
