Women's Rugby Faces Albany In Tri- State Championship, Sunday, Nov. 18 at Vassar College

Tri State Championship
The undefeated Bobcats will travel to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to take on the second ranked Albany Great Danes, Sunday, November 18 at Noon. The Danes placed just behind the Bobcats advanced to the final round of the Tri-State Tournament after their game over Rutgers.
Quest for the Cup
The Quinnipiac Women's Rugby team in their second year will enter the Tri-State Championship for the first time ever in program history. The Bobcats finished their season last year at 3-6-1.
All- Time Against Albany
This match-up will mark the second meeting between these two programs. In their last meeting, the Bobcats traveled to Albany to take on the Danes. The Bobcats won 27-10 over the second ranked opponent to bring their win count to nine on their breakout season.
Semi-Finals Over The Foxes
Natalie Kosko once again lead the Bobcats' attack, two of which came on 20-plus yard runs. She also tallied five tackles in the game. Nancy Dunn had a try and an assist while Meghan Hanneman scored and led the team with 10 tackles. Shannon Durkin also scored for the Bobcats. Colleen Doherty assisted on Kosko's second try while also finishing with eight tackles. Jackie Maclearie had eight tackles for the Bobcats as well as several long runs at crucial moments.
No Stopping Natalie
Freshman wing, Natalie Kosko continues to make an impact on the Bobcats attack down the strech. The Freshman has already compiled 16 tries in her rookie debut and has over 75 point
The Tri-State Playoffs will consist of four teams battling it out for the champion position at Vassar College this year, Quinnipiac is ranked in the number one position while Albany, Rutgers, and Marist follow. The first round semifinals will take place at Quinnipac (Quinnipiac vs. Marist) and Albany (Albany vs. Rutgers) the winners of the two matches will continue on the following weekend at host site Vassar College.
Quinnipiac honored ten of the Bobcat seniors for their dedication to the program on Sunday, November 11. The Senior Class presented Emily Carroll, Colleen Doherty, Nancy Dunn, Megan Hannemann, Jacqueline Maclearie, Lindsay Nolan, Krystin Orrico, Katie Partin, Marie Pescatore, and Katie Wood for their contributions to the program.
Bobcats Scar the Danes
Quinnipiac continues to push the offensive line over the Great Danes of Albany on Sunday Oct. 28. The Bobcats finished 27-10 over the second ranked opponent in the Tri-State Conference. Starting off slow the Bobcats held their own with tries from Devon Vieira, Raechel Stimpson, and Jacqueline Maclearie. Freshman Natalie Kosko had a stand out performance for Quinnipiac scoring two tries and rushing over 70 yards. Kosko now leads the Bobcats in scoring for her freshman campaign totaling over 50 points for Quinnipiac. The loss was Albany's first for their season.
Put to the Test
The Bobcats faced NCAA opponent West Chester their last time on the field and were put to the test against their counterpart. Quinnipiac was led by freshman Natalie Kosko propelling the Bobcats to the victory with three tries in the matchup. Points were also provided by Shannon Durkin and Devon Vieira to lead the Bobcats over the Golden Rams, 32-12. Quinnipiac remains undefeated on the season outscoring their opponent 526-31.
The Quinnipiac women's rugby team put on an incredible offensive display on Sunday, scoring a program-record 130 points in the shutout victory over Hofstra, 130-0, at the QU Rugby Field. Senior open-side flanker Megan Hannemann and freshman wing Natalie Kosko each tallied a career-high four tries in an absolute blitz that featured 11 different scorers for the Bobcats.
Rain Doesn't Stop the Bobcats
The Bobcats traveled to Stony Brook, N.Y. last Sunday, Oct. 7, to take on the Stony Brook Seawolves. Senior Nancy Dunn carried the Bobcats with three tries to lead Quinnipiac over the Seawolves, 66-0. The outside center lead the team with three tries and two assists for Quinnipiac. Senior Megan Hannemann and freshman Tesni Phillips registered two tries a piece for Quinnipiac.
Five and Zip
The Bobcats continued to capitalize on their 5-0 record on the year with a win at home against Marist College, Sept. 30, 52-0. Sophomore Raechel Stimson added three tries for the Bobcats along with freshman Natalie Kosko who tallied two tries. The Bobcats for the season have outscored their opponents 273-12 for the year and continue to make headway. Also with noteworthy game was Elisa Cuellar with 11 solo tackles for the Bobcats.
Brewers No Match
Quinnipiac continued their unbeaten 3-0 season in Poughkeepsie when Vassar played host to the Bobcats. Sophomore Elisa Cuellar led in points for Quinnipiac women's rugby team adding two tries and an assist for Quinnipiac to lead them to a 36-12 victory against the Brewers at Vassar Farm With the win, the Bobcats remains undefeated as they improves 4-0 and 3-0 in Tri-State Conference play this year.
Bobcats on a Roll
With the Bobcats win over the Hawks on Sunday, Sept. 16, Quinnipiac improves to 3-0 in their already impressive season. The start has already proved to be their best start in program history. The Bobcats have shattered their largest victory margin from earlier this year against SUNY New Paltz, 94-0. With the win, Quinnipiac had 12 players post points for the Bobcats. For the second time this season there has been 12 players who have scored during a game for Quinnipiac.
Bobcats Brawl by Binghamton
Sunday, Sept. 9, 12 Bobcats posted points to crush Binghamton, 91-0. Freshman Raechel Stimson posted the first try of her career while Krystin Orrico led the team with 24 points while also going 8-for-15 on conversions. Shannon Durkin, Elisa Cuellar and Allison Gnys combined for seven tries, with Cuellar also adding an assist. Freshman Devon Vieira, Tesni Phillips, Jennifer Salomon, Jacqueline Maclearie, Nancy Dunn, Colleen Doherty and Katie Wood all had one try a piece.
Dunn Going the Distance
Senior flanker Nancy Dunn guided QU to the victory with the game-winning try in the best-of-three series. Dunn found the room to maneuver through the Eastern Illinois' defensive end and crossed the goal line for the game-winning try with less than two minutes showing on the clock. The 5-0 triumph gave the Bobcats their first win over Eastern Illinois, improving to 1-3 all-time against the Panthers.
About Tri- State Rugby Conference
Metropolitan New York Rugby Football Union, made the change to the Tri-State Rugby Conference in the summer of 2012. The Conference believes that education through sport and inter-collegiate competition play a vital role in a student's personal development. Quinnipiac will play in the Tri-State Rugby Conference, which is the home to Marist, Vassar, Rutgers, Binghamton, Albany, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Stony Brook, and Hofstra.
November 11 and 18th will mark the beginning of the Tri- State Tournament Semifinals and Championships for the conference. The winners of each match will move on to the championship round November 18 at Vassar College. For the other November 11 will mark the end of the season for their program.
